60 million Richarlison, 60million, Solanke, 50 million Johnson. We are overpaying on the wrong types of player. You over pay on technical ability and pace. We've assembled a mid table team under a coach with little actual top flight experience, and we still look poorly set up and coached. I think he makes Christmas he's done really well.
I like Eze.... But he just doesn't justify this degree of hype.
Kulu/Maddison is no more "ridiculous" than playing Eze instead of one of them.

Not sure if he knows who can play at this level and who can’t. It’s certainly a tough way to find out — can’t be giving apprenticeships in the Prem.
Struggling to care about this result but another lazy, cosy and frankly despicable performance from our pampered First Team operation. It’ll be the same year after year. Levy and the players taking obscene money from the fans, living it up in high security luxury surroundings, playing in a stadium the pitch success simply doesn’t warrant. It’s an absolute joke. And it’s on us.
To be fair, Solanke has been excellent in most games he's played, and Johnson, despite looking technically incapable and tbh a bit thick at times, actually scored lots of goals recently. So I'm not sure we should be writing off either of them yet.
Richarlison was (or at least 'has turned out to be') a poor signing, don't think anyone can deny that. It happens, every club signs someone from time to time who doesn't hit the heights expected of them. It's a shame, as I love his attitude, his shithousery, but it does feel as though he's never going to be a star for us, he's just not good enough.

The midfield 3 including Maddison &Kula was not working. Last week he brought on Sarr at H/T and he should have started him today but at least brought him on at H/T again. We could not get out from the back and kept giving the ball away.

I said this months ago about the level of player he has worked directly with and people freaked out. Then I recall players like Tom Ince tearing up the SPL and think Adros Townshend Benteleb and Mason didnt make it under Pochettino at Spurs. Townshend would look like R7 in that league.

Richarlison was a conte buy that the manager clearly doesn't want. Unfortunately that player rejected an offer on the table in Saudi Arabia.
I'm sure he would have been replaced ( eventually).
We are still clearly trying to get rid of the rest of the dross from the last few windows. And possibly a few from the more recent windows. We've clearly taken punts on young players that we hope will come good such as Johnson, Odobert , Gray , Bergvall etc.
If they don't then the manager will pay the ultimate price ( if he even gets that much time ).

We're sorely lacking a calm, experienced leader on the park, both in the 6 and at CB. Biss and Romero are simply not reliable enough.

The thing is it’s all well good playing out from the back but we only ever have two players to do it. The FBs are no where to be seen. Look at when cuti has the ball if Porro was there to his right side he may have another option. He only has VDV in space in our 6 yard box. Destiny is not on the left either. We have no forwards who make any runs which I believe the wide players and kulu should be doing for a long pass over the top. We use to do that with Toby. Cuti ofc could have hit it upfield but decided for some reason to chip the ball over to VDV leading to the problem. Other teams play it out from the back and progress the ball forward as their FBs are avavilable for the CBs.
The slick football is only v trans who let us play abd our crap. Anyone who ups the tempo abd presses we crumble.
Not saying Eze is a perfect fit for us but I'll take him doing whatever we are asking Kulu to do every time. In a game where we had 65% of the ball, Eze still managed to see more of the ball and his XA 0.48 v pissed Kulusevski 0.01.
