One of my Inter colleagues just told me that Inzaghi is as good as gone from Inter. From his words "he's been the best manager I've seen at Inter in the past 30 years, Jose included (and he adores Jose)". If there's a tiny chance that Inzaghi becomes available, you throw everything and the kitchen sink at that opportunity.

Do kitchen sinks cost money ?

( Asking for a friend obviously) .

Sorry to be ignorant, but what exactly is this low block merchant's track record prior to this season ?

These reports about Inzaghi are probably nonsense, but just to have some fun with it:

How ironic would it be for the sections of the club's supporters to decide we need to keep a manager with terrible results and football that's shocking to the eye because he won Europa, rather than bringing on a manager with great results who won the CL (if in fact he does) because he's a "low block merchant"?

That luscious football we've been treated to during the Ange era is preferable? Be serious

Frank for me.

He got Brentford to score 66 goals this season with one of the smallest budgets in the league.
Nah. Not for me. He'd be one of the most uninspiring, lack lustre appointments imaginable.
If we're poaching from within the PL, I can't look past Glasner at Palace. Or use our location, CL football and financial strength to get Emery out of Villa. That would make a statement of intent.

I don’t really care about inspiring.

His record speaks for itself, keeping Brentford in the league for this long when the teams that come up are expected to go straight back down is very impressive.

And the goal scoring record isn’t easy either. Scoring goals is the hardest thing to do, and that’s after losing Toney as well.

Impressive at Brentford, I agree. Just doesn’t come across as a big club manager to me. Someone who can inspire big name players to consistently challenge for major titles.
Time will tell. But if he doesn't land the Spurs job, I'd be happy to have a charity bet he doesn't land another big 6 or European equivalent job in the next few years.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær: "A trophy does NOT mean you're back. It's the gradual progression and consistency of being at the top of the league. Sometimes, a cup competition can hide the fact that you're still struggling."

To be completely fair :

When OGS said that a few years ago he was referring to Man Utd in the recent era .

To put things in perspective:,

Since KB left ; in 38 odd years we’d won precisely two ( 2) League Cups
( in 38 odd years ) .

In the same space of time Man Utd had won :

13 Premier League titles

8 FA Cups

6 League Cups

12 Charity Shiejds ( incl shared ) .

2 European Cups / Champions League

1 Uefa Cup / Europa League

1 European Super Cup

1 World Club Cup

That’s 32 ( thirty-two ) trophies ( 44 if you include the Charity Shiejds ) .

How on EARTH would OGS’s comments apply to us ie our Club ?

To remind you ; in that space of time we won 2 (two ) League Cups . (For which I will forever be grateful for btw ) .

Sorry Fella ; but citing OGS
(talking about Man Utd over the past 40 odd years ) and thinking it applies equivalently to our Club ; is just plain wrong or just utter madness; take your pick .

Oh dear.
If you are going to quote actual trophies won in a certain period, don’t show your ignorance and forget we won an FA Cup and Charity Shield in the period you twice quoted we only won 2 League Cups

Fair dues ; I was there for both of them ( still got the programmes and tickets ) by the way .

Still doesn’t change my reasoning that what Man Utd did in the same period ( trophy - wise ) puts OGS’s comments into a context that simply wouldn’t apply to us
( unfortunately) .

Their 32 trophies to our 3
( Ignoring the CS’s ) ; there’s a big difference there ; you’d have to agree .

But fair enough; you’re completely right to correct me and thank you for pointing it out .

Do Inter park the bus? Didn't look that way against Barca
No they don’t in any way. They attack with pace and in numbers and defend when they don’t have the ball. Pretty much the way it should be done. I think they are a cracking watch. They have midfielders that can all play and get forward and join in the game. They have full backs/wing backs that are goal threats every time they go forward. They have defenders that defend for their lives. They also play two strikers that link and go in behind. The difference with them is they have better players than us in every department apart from centre backs.
