Match Spurs v Bodo/Glimt (A) - Champions League - Tues 30th Sept - KO: 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I will preface this by saying I haven’t seen a replay of the game.
Did TF get his selections wrong? Why did we start the game with no Kudus or Xavi in the lineup? If we were going with a more defensive mindset then why no Paulinho? I just don’t understand Frank’s thinking in his starting 11.

For those of you who’ve watched the game can I ask you, did we lack creativity in the first half?
Another question I have is does Brennan Johnson suit Frank’s set up? I think we can agree that he is fairly limited in his skill set. He seemed to suit Ange’s gunho style of play better than Frank’s more cautious approach.

I’m not happy with the result. This is a game we should’ve won, despite the conditions etc. So did TF’s team selection let us down? Or was it the players? Or were BG a better side than the one we beat last year? Or maybe a bit of all of the above?

I’m not having a go at him or any of the team, merely posing the question/s. As I said I’m yet to watch the game.

We lacked creativity in both halves mate, in all players who were in any formation :D

Frank's starting XI was weak - players were crap - subs meh bu bu bu Gray got an asisst! also guess what we got an OWN GOAL AGAIN! our top scorer for this season :D

Don't bother with the replay unless you need some sleep as it was a fukkin boring game...

The game was a definition of a shitshow be it Frank or the players even both - our players looked like they didn't want to be there...

Our midfield and attack are just so limited.
Madders and Kulu would walk into this team.
Kudus shows promise but Johnson and Simons were terrible.
Strange that United realised that they needed 2/3 new strikers but we didn't think that we needed another one until the last week.
Kolo M will hopefully be fit soon but unless Simons bucks up there will be little service to him.
We DO need £1.2 bill in the next 2 windows and we need to move some out too.

Terrible performance, only upped our game when we went two down. We were lucky that they missed some golden opportunities to increase their lead. Still, to look on the positive side, we did fight back and showed some resilience in getting an equaliser. I think that we shouldn't poo-poo own goals, it at least shows that we're getting the ball in the penalty area and putting the pressure on. Sure, it would be lovely to see a worldie now and again, but in certain games, I'm just relieved that the ball crossed the line.
Let's see how other teams fare at Bodo's ground before we beat ourselves up over this result.

Our gameplay is so predictable.

Centreback passes to fullback who passes it to the wide player who then passes it back to the fullback who passes it back to any player, who then pumps a cross into the box. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Even Bodo has a better game plan than us
You forgot passing back to Vic to to hit it no where. For the 2nd goal why did VDV give to Vic to kick knowing he useless. Why doesn’t he kick it forward. I don’t get this why pass it back to goalie to lump it when the out field players are surely better at trying to make a pass than the goalie.

Got a draw from a game we should have lost.
No clean sheets in the last 3 games, not sure how Frank solves the lack of creativity until January at least.
I think Xavi will come good eventually, other than crosses into the box we lack any attacking threat.
There have been some chatter that, possibly the club could get 4th.
I can't see it and, 7th or 8th remains a realistic final finish at best.
Let's see post levy, how well the Lewis family back the manager.

Qx there you go again. Telling people, you’re shit, I’m better than you. I have a better understanding than you..

Why do you feel this pressing need to judge and correct others? Does being condescending and arrogant give you a sense of superiority that replaces your physical decline?

Is this a productive way to spend your last years on our planet? I doubt it.
Why are you obsessed with my age and the need to keep trying to put me down for it? Does being younger and arrogant give you a sense of superiority that replaces your ineptitude at communicating without trying to bully people?

I don't feel the need to massage yours or other people's egos when they post rubbish on here, most of which centres around a poor result or performance as if it was the end of the world.

I am amused at the irony of you calling me condescending, when it is the core of all of your responses to me.

I don't hide behind a pseudonym or my age and I just give honest responses. Treat me like you would like to be treated and you can guarantee I will reciprocate.

Anyone is better than Ange.

But we looked good when the season started. Did really well against PSG. Beat Burnley 3-0 and then City.

We looked like a decent side. And what happened then? We've been looking awful since the Bournemouth game.
New manager bounce.
We have looked much better defensively but if your midfield defensive screen is as porous as a teabag then eventually the opposition will work a way through a tiring defence.
With Deki and Mads back and fit we will have more of the ball and less of the pressure. It doesn't help when your forwards don't keep the ball or threaten the opposition with it either. Someone needs to tell Richie that the tactic of backing into defenders and hitting the deck as if shot is not helping the team out.

That clearance from Vicario is worse than an embarrassment. No control, no target. The ball swerved so bad and it still only travelled one-third of the field. Either he aimed one to our guys, or worse, just fucking hoof it up to their defence. His clearance was neither here nor there and that is pissing me off.

We've had very favourable fixtures so far. I don't see the kind of play we saw today - or against Wolves - doing anything against stronger opposition.
This favourable fixture nonsense again. Wolves are our bogey side, we hadn’t won at West Ham for 5 years, it’s been a very long time since we won at Brighton.

Rather than do a comparison to last year when we finished 17th, I went back a year further to Ange’s first season and us finishing 5th and compared the same games

Frank

Burnley H = 3-0 - 3 points
Man City A = 2-0 - 3 points
Bournemouth H = 0-1 - 0 points
West Ham A = 3-0 - 3 points
Brighton A = 2-2 - 1 point
Wolves H = 1-1 - 1 point
Total points = 11

Ange

Burnley H = 2-1 - 3 points
Man City A = 3-3 - 1 point
Bournemouth H = 2-1 - 3 points
West Ham A = 1-1 - 1 point
Brighton A = 4-2 - 0 points
Wolves H = 1-2 - 0 points
Total points = 8

In addition to that, Ange didn’t have Europe of any description to deal with and we were out of the League cup immediately.

So stop with the favourable fixture nonsense as it’s demonstrably not true

It was a poor starting line up, the front 3 being the very definition of footballing poverty.

Bentancur and Sarr were passengers and Spence had probably his worst ever game for us.

The big issue in the first half was that without Romero we couldn’t play out from the back as they pinned Porro and Spence back meaning Danso was the free man and he just doesn’t have that in his game. Neither does VDV and Vic can’t kick.

So then you need an out ball, instead we had a training cone that couldn’t trap his own arse with his own hands.

Could a midfielder drop deep and drive us up the pitch like Dembele - could they fuck. Could a midfielder drop deep and play us through the press like Modric - could they fuck.

I thought our summer window was pretty good, but we need plenty more to sort the mess out and Frank needs to do better than last night with what he has as it was obvious it wouldn’t work before a ball was kicked - a truly bizarre starting 11

Not really, not where you're concerned.
You don't seem to have the ability to accept what you are told about your limitations. I can only tell you what I discern from your posts, your opinions and the way you interpret information you have available to you.
It's not a good picture.
Umm well actually you've said the same thing to about 5 different posters.

Switch it up a bit, come with a new schtick. This one's run it's course old man.

To be precise, we upped our game for precisely 60 seconds after each goal conceded, and would you believe we went and scored quite easily both times. Obviously one was disallowed, but it highlights just how ashamed the players ought to be with themselves for not taking the 3 points in that game, if they had just pulled their bloody fingers out for even 15 minutes out of the 90 then that would have been a comfortable win.
