Bale is only half decent with his back towards the goal and a god running at people with the ball at pace... he's probably best used as a right winger as he's able to swing in crosses with his left foot and his right foot is getting better and better (he says he's working on it after all) and he can cut inside and let loose that rocket shot of a left foot he's got!
He's the best striker of the ball on the team, but I'd like to keep him on the wings cutting inside.
The thing with the is Altidore stuff is...we're not even fucking linked with him!
I might just email AVB and ask him to release a press statement directly to TFC members about Altidore just so everyone would just shut the fuck up about it!
Problem is, if Levy found out about Altidore and the potential of raising the profile of Spurs further in America, there'd be some genuine speculation about him and I'd have to hate everyone all the more!

I am a huge Altidore fan, as well as a Spurs fan.
For the sake of both parties I do not believe Tottenham is the right move for him. Many here would agree that Altidore would not be leading the line if he were to come here. It is best for our national team if Jozy got first team action somewhere. It wouldn't be at Tottenham. Would much rather him go somewhere else for the best interest of everyone.

His next step should be to one of the clubs in Holland that play in Europe, see how he fairs in the Champions League. If he has torn up the dutch league as much as we are led to believe then surely Ajax, PSV or Feyernoord would be interested in him. If he's good enough he will get such a move. If not he has found his level at a mid table club. People forget that goals at a mid level club don't always translate to goals at a top level club. Dempsey is a prime example of this. Yes he has scored some important goals, but he hasn't scored nearly as many as he did for Fulham. Darren Bent is another player you could point at and say the same.
