Didn't Coentrao use to play for Benfica. I don't think there would have been much chance of AVB getting Coentrao at Porto, whether it be from Benfica or Real. That last tweet sounds like bullshit to me

Can't help but think that the Hernandez story is down to some journo mixing him up with Hernanes...

I can imagine those tabloid journos trawling through twitter and the likes of the forum to get information. What I don't get is how they think they can report total garbage on the word of someone who isn't a trusted source is beyond me. Do they follow the so called ITKs?

Perhaps we should plant a name, not a massive one and see if we can get it to run!:gallashmm:

Success has a way to change expectations no doubt. Look at ManCity. Before the oil money arrived, their fans wouldn't have realistically imagined that they'd win the Premier League let alone challenge in Europe. Sure, they haven't challenged in Europe yet, but they're seen as one of the big clubs on the planet now because their squad is top draw.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that even though we all here know Spurs have a glorious history, outside of the club's fans, the perception is that we're a club that gets close but then sells it's best players. But those perceptions will change if we can play in the CL for a few seasons and probably more important, challenge for the Premier League title. There has already been a change in how much of the media sees our club. Those of us here who remember when the media would laugh at us because we were linked with a quality player ... remember Rivaldo? ... now we can be linked not only older stars looking for one last contract but also young, up and coming stars like Sandro, Lamela, Paulinho and Capoue or finished products like Soldado without the press snickering about why a player wanted by Liverpool or Woolwich or Milan etc would even consider us.

I'll say it's gone, at least this transfer window, a step further...the press asks why a player would want to join Liverpool if we are interested. The amount of articles saying Willian made the right call (before Chelsea stole him) was almost jaw dropping.

Levy right now:

Reposting from another site but I would say Baldini would be more worthy of our excited praise
Is that Willian behind Levy's right shoulder? (the chap that covers his gob)

Well, given that they're from Spain and are not Real Madrid or Barcelona we probably can give him a rather big pay-rise. The bigger problem could be that the club doesn't want to sell him given that they've already sold their best player this month.

The Goat agrees with you @ CrestOfAWave CrestOfAWave :

"It's looking likely that they'll be several more signings on top of Lamela/Vlad. There are a lot of names being bandied about, Vadillo, Pastore and Greizman have all been mentioned as being targets."
