No way Jose! Chelsea demand £8m for Liverpool and Tottenham target Ryan Bertrand

CHELSEA have slapped an £8m price-tag on Liverpool and Tottenham target Ryan Bertrand.

Jose Mourinho's side have already rejected Liverpool's £6m bid for the twice capped England international, but a revised bid is expected.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a host of defenders including Bertrand, and is a clear sign that bolstering his back-four is a priority for the Argentine.

However, the £8m price-tag being demanded by the West London side is just £2m short of Swansea's Ben Davies valuation.

And a move for a younger star with greater potential may be a more tempting offer.

Ryan Bertrand has been sent out on-loan six times in his Chelsea career, and now at the age of 24, the left-back looks set to make a permanent move.

Bertrand has no shortage of admirers, with Southampton, Aston Villa and Hull all forced to await the outcome of Liverpool and Spurs' bids.

With Ashley Cole's exit, it appeared that Bertrand would have his opportunity at left-back.

But Mourinho's decision to play Cesar Azpilicueta out-of-position in favour of deploying the 24-year-old in his natural slot, is a clear sign of the Portuguese managers thoughts.

What are the general views on him?

Personally, I think he's could be a decent prospect for 7-8m, should the Davies deal fail to materialise

Very perplexed on our left back situation. We've cooled on Davies supposedly but haven't really been linked to anyone else? Don't know what to make of it. Who should we be looking at?

Not interested one little bit.

Never locked down a regular place in a team and he's now 24. For me, that has prevented him ever reaching the levels we would expect at Spurs. Not even an upgrade on Danny Rose.
