It's strange to me that Pochettino mentions how a player like Sadio Mane is someone we need. Attacks direct and with pace yet we have Njie. A player he signed a year ago..

We got VDV, not completely absurd, we are a CL club in what is now arguably the most competitive league around and Isco seems not to be in their plans. Perhaps a Bayern Munich or Man United will come in but if not don't see why it can't be us.

I don't feel this will happen simply because as soon as it comes to money we will probably penny pinch but wouldn't say it's impossible. Woolwich who are admittedly richer than us got cast offs Ozil and Sanchez.
 
I don't actually think Isco is unrealistic at all. Just think we need to show the ambition to get him. We also desperately need pace which is who keeping son for me is important as well as bringing in Nkoudou
 
Remember last year when it was only Berhino that we had any link to and how that felt ? This is even more worrying.

As I am cynical I am now almost certain that Poch has been told he needs to sell before he buys and they were able to keep the "bigger names" only by selling the other lesser names.

sorry, but selling Chadli or Njie makes zero sense when they are being replaced by no one or at best someone who is untried / untested.

I really don't hope we're banking on Coric to happen. The guy was supposedly a medical away from Liverpool, he's not leaving this window. If we're putting our money on him I'm done

I saw spurs play about 6 times in UEFA cup comps from about 77 until ENIC took over and a few times in the now defunct cup winners cup.
The fact is football is different now. Even Forest, Ipswich and QPR had pin up players in those days. Football has changed dramatically.
Those great cup winning times also brought us to the brink of collapse. We could have been finished as a club.
We haven't been the same since then. We missed the boat and were in decline and going nowhere before ENIC bought us. There was no plan before. We seemed content with Spurs lodge and WHL whilst our neighbours were thinking ahead in 96. We also did not get lucky with the buy outs and Chavs did ( if you would have wanted things that way) just after ENIC took over.
One may have been the clause ENIC made to the shareholders on take over but more possibly that our team needed a complete overhaul and Stamford bridge had some Hotels and a better developed facilities & stadium which held more.
Yet, we are now more consistent in the league and in Europe now than we ever were in my time. We have achieved this whilst investing money in big club facilities.
We aint won as much, no. Then again since the inception of the PL and the 'top 4' who has won the FA cup from outside the top 4.
Chelsea, Everton, Portsmouth, Wigan?
It aint all that bad. Liverpool have also just won one league cup in a decade. Everton have won nothing too.

I take your point and understand how you see it , but disagree on many things on how the footballing side of the club is run. A disinterested tax dodge owner does not leave many of us with any confidence .
Many of us feel there is a " middle way " .
I did love Alfie Conn ,a sort of Glaswegian Pancho Villa .
 
Coric apparently rejected Liverpool in favour of Champions League football with Zagreb. Levy than proceeded to bid 15mil for him Saturday evening with the player yet to respond. All according to the Croatian media.

I watched him most of this campaign and he has looked unbelievable... I really hope we pull this one off. Not to mention Poch and Levy should be going all out for Brozovic and Perisic, who we have been linked with. They have both been benched buy Frank de Boer at Inter...
