Have you played football to a decent level? Like, not Sunday morning (where the pressure is zero).

If so, you know full well that playing in the latter stages of ''prestigious'' competitions (whether that be a F.A. Vase or a World Cup, depending on your level) gives you a wealth of experience. Winning that penalty shootout v. Colombia alone is worth it's weight in gold when dealing with pressure situations. Much like when we folded against Chelsea, these lads have now come out the other side of highly pressured competition. And won.

All those players who played in the latter stages of the World Cup will be better players for it. As they all, to a man, have already said.

Kieran Trippier will be a better player. Davinson Sanchez will be a better player. Harry Kane. Dele Alli.

Any player of this game understands that with experience comes improvement. And what an experience they've just had.

No! NO! NOOO!

You have got it all wrong! But I can help! Just repeat after me -
"We are standing still, everyone else will surpass us without a slightest of problems!"
"We did not buy anyone, we will surely get relegated! I mean Wolves brought a lot so they will deffo finish ahead of us! So does West Ham!"
"We are so f*cked, Levy out! Burn down ENIC headquarters, fu*k everyone!"

If you have repeated all of those for 999 times, you should have VERY REALISTIC and REASONABLE view of current affairs.
Today is, without a doubt THE end of the world!!! Everyone will die!!! Everyones families will die!!!

Just going to put this out there....in 1991/92, Manchester United signed the total of 2 players, Paul Parker and (arguably their greatest ever keeper in Scmiechal), in 1992/93 they signed 5 players:
July 1992FW Jovan KirovskiUnattachedFree1 August 1992DF Pat McGibbon Portadown£100k7 August 1992FW Dion Dublin Cambridge United£1m27 November 1992FW Eric Cantona Leeds United£1.2m6 January 1993GK Les Sealey Aston VillaUndisclosed

Arguably the best 2 of those were Dublin and Cantona, we know what they went on to do by promoting youth.

The levels people go to justify the absolute shambles of a transfer window. Players are older and another year of experience makes them better - great stuff, we only need the remaining 19 teams' players to all sit on their asses not training and we might do better than them. City demolished the league and still went and signed players. Liverpool were runners-up in the CL, went out and signed players.

We may not feel the impact now, but it will hurt us. Short term not considered, what this clearly shows is a terrible lack of planning, absolutely no clue scouting in place and very bad investment plans for the team. I can only assume that the club has paid account members putting a positive spin on everything the club does here.

Seriously which kind of a football supporter prioritises a world class training facility and stadium over investment in the team. The team is the most important asset to a football club, and shocking there has been such a terrible backing to get that asset better.
