Plus Christian could really use some competition. We need somebody whether he leaves or not, but if he leaves we need 2 players. Otherwise we are back with Eriksen having to play every minute of every game.
you are worried about not spending enough - so that is worrying about business sid e - why do you want us to go bankrupt (easy this isn't it).But now you are saying some are worried about overspending. So that = worrying about the buisness side & how much we spend. So are you now admitting some worry about the business side & how much we spend.
any rich billionaire could buy a club in this league tomorrow and take our place in the top 4
Just having a laughHe is a good loyal supporter but he is happy if we spend nothing, lots or somewhere in the middle. No real opinion of his own. Basically the club knows best. If it doesn't work out then he will admit the club didn't know best after all but obviously it's too late then.So basically, let me just clarify this, we are good enough to win a trophy but if we fail to win a trophy then nobody is to blame for us failing to win one? That makes no logical sense whatsoever.
You say 4-5 teams are good enough and yet, we aren't seeing 4-5 teams winning trophies are we? Not even in rotation.
We are seeing the same teams repeatedly winning trophies (minus the Leicester season) so there seems to be a pretty predictable pattern as to who will win a trophy and we aren't part of that pattern which would indicate we aren't good enough with our current squad, unless of course you think it's the manager underachieving? Which to me seems ludicrous considering he hasn't signed a player in 18 months.
It sounds to me like, no offense, you are just happy, regardless of what happens and you're willing to accept any outcome because the very idea of criticising the owners makes you uncomfortable and you would rather just accept what you are given than to challenge it because we are in a comfortable position currently.
There is ALWAYS someone to blame, it's the reason people get hired and fired.
I think it's absurd to believe we are getting "closer and closer" when that simply isn't the truth, Man City and the clubs above us could go out tomorrow and blow us away in the market, any rich billionaire could buy a club in this league tomorrow and take our place in the top 4, you see this long term model of "doing things the right way" as something that will pay off in the end, I see that as unhealthy optimism in a modern game that, more often than not, rewards the richest clubs who pay the most for players in terms of wages and fees.
I admire you optimism I really do but the reality speaks for itself, we won't win a major trophy (unless we get Leicester lucky) under our current model.

Move on to who exactly? Ndombele is exactly the player we need. The perfect Dembele replacement, even a better version due to his passing range. And he's only 23.
Then they do care as some feel we can't afford 200m. Talks of 70m being very risk!!! but you think they would be ok with 200m. Anyway let's leave it there. Agree to disagree!you are worried about not spending enough - so that is worrying about business sid e - why do you want us to go bankrupt (easy this isn't it).
I will make this easy for you - No one cares how much we spend as long as the club can afford it, that may be 50M or 200M no one care how much just that it wont make us bankrupt or have negative consequences in the future.
Its the same tune you are either incapable or unwilling to understand.
There is not always someone to blame - when two good competitors face up one will win one will lose - there doenst have to be blame. I am as pissed off more than most when we lose (happy with the club doenst equal happy with the result), I am known for it, but its bollox to say its always someones fault, if you live your life that way I feel sorry for you.So basically, let me just clarify this, we are good enough to win a trophy but if we fail to win a trophy then nobody is to blame for us failing to win one? Disagree with youAlarming lack of tangible links so far
Again - I reiterate, we will only be able to sign if we sell. Those who think we suddenly have a massive kitty after 5-odd games in the new stadium - beyond delusion. We will be on the lean for years to come, especially before naming rights are secured. Who do you think will service the 1 bn loan - Joe's holiday fund? Newsflash - we won't sign a 80m player this summer
No transfers have happened, this is a transfer thread of course they are going to talk about cost. Then they do care as some feel we can't afford 200m. Talks of 70m being very risk!!! but you think they would be ok with 200m. Anyway let's leave it there. Agree to disagree!

How many of these do you think were positive signings?
1. Davinson Sanchez (£40million)
2. Moussa Sissoko (£35million)
3. Roberto Soldado (£30million)
4. Erik Lamela (£30million)
5. Heung-Min Son (£30million
6. Lucas Moura (£28.4million)
7. Serge Aurier (£25million)
8. Darren Bent (£24.7million)
9. Vincent Janssen (£22.1million)
10. David Bentley (£22million)
That's just silly then!No transfers have happened, this is a transfer thread of course they are going to talk about cost.
Once we sign a player there is more information available (club think we can afford it) and the conversation will move on.
I want to start by saying I think we do need to sign new players this summer but have been quite happy last summer and January when we didn't buy anyone. Last summer the biggest and best business was still signing Poch, Kane and the others onto new contracts.I never said I wanted us to "Spend all the money" we haven't signed a player in 18 MONTHS until today, the only club in Europe not to sign a player in that time and our manager has outright said we need to change our policy numerous times, the very same manager that has brought us all this success so far because before him we were nowhere near as good as we are now (other than when Redknapp was in charge who doesn't have a thing on what Poch has accomplished considering it's a tougher league now.)
The only thing I care about is us being the best club in the world, anything else is irrelevant to me, that's the honest truth at this juncture and I don't understand why anybody would care about doing things "the right way" in this day and age where football is full of corruption and bullshit and yes, that includes our club despite us somehow thinking we are above it all when we just spent over a billion on a stadium, we are hardly the poor underdogs of the league.
The manager isn't happy with our current model mate, that's the whole point, he has said numerous times we need to operate differently, I have even seen certain posters (who I now have on ignore) say that if Poch doesn't like it then he can leave, I find it utterly ludicrous that people would rather us save money and balance the books and worry more about us taking a short term financial hit than back the best manager we have had in our lifetime or probably ever will have because make no mistake, if things stay as they are it won't be long before he walks mate.
