Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There were rumours he was going to be offered a new contract with a clause in it. Personally I think Real or Barca won't be in for him unless his clause stipulates he can leave on a cheap fee. Which means leaving on a free is his only option.

Agree all that except no reason why Levy wouldnt agree a contract with a get out fee of say £50m to non PL clubs, exercises in June each year) with a decent wage increase.

Eriksen will be playing for his next contract - will never go to Spain if he's often on Spurs bench so in his interest to sign such a contract and see who wants to come in for him.

With a release clause only exeriseable at start of every TW gives us a decent chance to recruit another AM - although less critical now GLC is here.

I understand why it's being said that he will walk away on a free if he doesn't go this window, but why will he? If he signs a new contract now he could immediately start earning an extra, say, £60,000 per week? Plus bonuses? Could be worth up to £4m in the next year. He can have clauses in his contract to release him to Real or Barca if that's what he wants, at a minimum price and with a nice sign on fee for himself. He gets to play regularly (hopefully back to his old, relaxed, self) improves his value, pleases Spurs fans and plays in a Premier League and Champions League winning team before moving.
Whats wrong with all that?

(in all honesty I made up the bit about the league and Champions League but the rest stands up on its own).
If he hasn't signed up until now why do you think he would? If he is free its likely that any singing on fee and wages would more than compensate him for the extra £4m this year. I cant see him signing a deal, I see him leaving on a free. I think he will still be a top player for us this year.

Unless of course we do put in a relatively cheap fee - if the rumours are correct that we were willing to take £50m this window we could include something around that figure. After all anything would be an improvement on him just walking away - and it would have only cost £3m-£4m for the extra year. Looks like a win-win to me.

Thought it might be useful to show the list of targets leaked to press at the start of TW - date of Evening Standard article is 31 May !

Pleased to say 100% obtained - always a shame we couldn't have got another in, but that's life.

To put that into context ManU whose squad is in a worse condition signed 2 first team players and a promising youngster whilst seeing 3 first team players leave

Makes you think they were essentially done before the end of the season. Which is a good thing of course.

Maybe - just maybe - he is one of the rare breed of players that will actually think of the club (and the fans) and sign a contract knowing that Spurs will sell him rather than have to give him away.
As I have said in my last post, include a release clause to the clubs he wants to sign for at a relatively low price, that way he gets the extra wages from us for a year and a decent signing on fee from the new club and we gain whatever the price is (£30m/£40m?). What could possibly go wrong with that?

He has had a contract on the table for two years and hasn't signed one. I can't see it happening myself.

Like I said mate, there are people here who would keep Kane, Poch, Dele and Eriksen at all costs but every single other memeber of the squad and coaching staff they wouldn’t batter an eyelid if they left.

There are people here who would see Levy walk if it meant Eriksen stayed.
Actually consider that.

Well they are simply thick.

As ever Levy dillied and dallied in my opinion but eventually and this time we got what I consider to be three-fifths of our needs . Last summer it was 0 out of 3 needed for me.

The 3 players this summer, given the quality I feel they possess (little I know of Lo Celso and Ndombele) should do for now but much of it will depend on what Pochettino and they produce. And what happens to Eriksen. Rose can fcuk off for all I care.

As much as I definitely and categorically do not believe our squad was good enough to win the PL last season I don't accept having got to a clear 3td that we should have finished 4th and mor do I absolve Pochettino from failing to bring us silverware in his 5 years.

This season another test but if he keeps picking players on reputation over form I can write the outcome already.

Also saw somewhere that we were working on bringing Dyballa in for the last three weeks. Not quite the last minute scramble some presumed, but alas we couldn't sift through the bullshit image rights snafu he's got himself into.

Levy would agree of course but Eriksen I don't think will, this is his last chance to move to Spain. He has a better chance of doing that on a free than waiting until one of the big 2 pay 50m.

I think we had an agreement in principle on the transfers - but as with everything the devil is in the detail.

I was told by someone involved in the Bale to Madrid transfer it took 2 to 3 weeks to convert an agreement in principle into the various contracts for the club, player and agents involved. So taking that at face value, getting Ndombele over the line at the start of July was probably par for the course ( imo Levy agreed to duck out of the bidding to allow Lyon to get Anderson from Sampadoria in and as pat of that also got Lyon to offer Fekir to Betis at a good price to help us with GLC) so lots of finessing to do.)

I think GLC was expected to be done at the same time as Ndombele but Betis did not return the Fekir favour and it dragged on - didn't really matter as GLC involved in Copa America so even now in s only ,2 weeks back from leave.

Sessegnon held up imo by the E u21' tournament, injury and Fulham wanting good young players from Spurs as part of the deal ( both Parker and Wells are ex Spurs Academy coaches so want to add value by polishing up Onomah to replace Sess), but as Sess is only just about fit, again didn't really matter that it went to last day.

But I think the standard article shows that Spurs set up deals throughout the season to be concluded in the following TW.

The anti Rose sentiment is unjustified. He has made some comments that are honest. So fuck. Good on him. I hope he makes more comments and continues to be one of the best left backs in the world for us

It’s boring to everyone but everyone wants a debate on it.

Decide....do you want me to answer your posts, or is it boring and you want me to stop talking about it?
Because like many many others, you are saying one thing, and doing the complete opposite.

Or is it that you want to say your opinion, I have to accept it, and not say my point, and if I do, I get a ban for “going on about it”.

Sort yourselves out ffs
Just do what you want to do.

If we were to add a striker our of the available freelancers (Llorente and Sturridge) who would you guys go for?

Another year of Nando or give Sturridge a go?
Sturridge is too injury prone. Shame there isn't any young strikers we could have signed to be back up to kane or a plan B to throw on. I wouldn't have minded signing santi mina from valencia. Maybe some championship young striker would be worth a punt.

Levy would agree of course but Eriksen I don't think will, this is his last chance to move to Spain. He has a better chance of doing that on a free than waiting until one of the big 2 pay 50m.

Two points :

1. Eriksen doesn't sign a new contract (albeit with s release clause etc) then he will not be a first choice player. And Eriksen on Spurs bench will never get to Madrid or Barcelona

2. If Eriksen believes that Madrid or Barcelona will only take him on s free, it means that neither club will appreciate him if he goes there - he will probably even to struggle to get on their bench. Eriksen is an intelligent man, he'll have worked that out. And I'm sure Levy and Poch will ensure he does understand that

Only question in my mind is what is a reasonable fee that Eriksen and Levy will compromise on - if it's not £50m it's ,£40m, after all there are not too many good AMs available for less , and neither Spanish club ( or other big club in Europe,,) have been afraid of paying such fees in the last.

But if he doesn't sign a new contract imo he's given up on his Spanish dream, Juve as stacked in midfield, so will he go to PSG for example ?
