That Toulouse team was absolutely woeful so I don’t think his passing that got them relegated. Interesting that his stats look a bit similar to Hojbjerg. Good at interceptions and turnovers, but quite a low passing percentage, both high 70s, and high percentage of forward passes into final 1/3, suggesting they have been asked to get the ball forward quickly by their coaches. Big difference is he can bring the ball forward with a dribble too.
IMO, saying he is a better (or at least better potential) version of Hojbjerg would be a fair (if quick and dirty) comparison. Neither are pure DMs.

Sangare > Hojbjerg > Winks

Knowing Mourinho, having Hojbjerg AND Sangare in a midfield pair is probably very appealing because they are both better defensively than any of our current CMs but also have the passing range to shuttle the ball forward. The downside is retaining the ball under pressure as they are both worse at that than GLC and Ndombele.

White Hart Lane was obsolete-you'll get no argument from me.

But this new stadium involves serious long-term pain. Money that could have been spent on the team has been diverted into infrastructure (which is why Levy is here in the first place). We began paying for the project roughly 10 years ago (thereby leaving ourselves short on the playing field ever since). Ahead of us, we have repayments of approximately £37m to make each year until 2042. That's a total of 32 or 33 years of pain.

The bottom line is that to grow the club, investment had to made in the only way possible - stadium - to substantially increase revenues sustainably.

The effect on the day to day business over the last 10 years I would say, and I'm pretty certain of this based on the numbers I've read, has been minimal. And even then some of that money spent by the club in the last 10 years has effectively been generated by things like share issues that created 30m new shares putting 15m into the CPO coffers.

The real pain of servicing the debt only started in the last 12-18 months I believe, giving us 22 years, and it's been structured in a pretty manageable way, especially as the stadium started delivering an extra 65m in revenue (and of course that will go up with inflation over that 22 years) so even while servicing the debt we are still 30m or so better off each year - again, a figure that will increase year on year.

The big fucker in this obviously as that no one foresaw the current catastrophe which has rendered stadiums moribund temporarily. Very Spurs.

This shit. This shit right here is the kind of Levy story that drives me bananas. The only defence I'd have for it is that he knew Real were desperate for him with endless resources (though the price he went for was still rather unimpressive) - it might have benefitted Spurs in the Bale sale as RM will have had PTSD from Modric.

I *think* he's cut this kind of shit out. Hopefully.

There is a lot of interest. But! Lots of clubs interested also. He would love to come to PL and here! But! Cannot see us paying the fee. Believed in excess of 30m. Unless! A creative one.

Trix has already mentioned the various scenarios. Loads of iron in the fire. Initially was told we were not looking at any LB’s. But it seems now we are. Reason Wilson not further advanced is DD on his med-history. Serge very close to leaving from what I know. Italy is his desired destination. Tbvh, cannot call anything with confidence right now, as loads of deals and contingencies lined up. Josè heavily involved with DL may I add. And so far so good.

Expect more revelations over coming days. Affinity, media Spot on near 100%. Caution! By now you know who the reliable ones are😉

This is where he really stands out to me - versatile and really good technique on the ball. Only 22 as well so plenty of time to develop other aspects of his game.

You just can't do business that way. For a million reasons.

I do think Levy is somewhat better behaved than in those days, but he is still fundamentally that person.

Happy with this but I watch alot of Ligue 1, he'd be a disaster as a DM for us, plays too many risky passes that haven't worked out for him this season

I'll get destroyed for this but could imagine him becoming what Kouyate was when he signed for Wet Spam, a box to box monster

That’s interesting. I’ve never seen him play but am wary about buying players from France nowadays. It’s hardly done us any favours in recent times.

Of course, you weren't claiming Levy priced Eriksen out of a move, you were just claiming it had been claimed. In some tabloid. See what you did there. nice.

You can oil up with the best of us slippery people.
Wrong again. I absolutely WAS claiming that DL priced CE out of a move. And I have many an article to defend that perspective...in fact RESPECT THE COCK RESPECT THE COCK has already posted one.

No oil here my man. Just facts and substantiated claims. And at least you know you are one of the slippery best. One day on this side of the fence the next day on the other. Whatever serves to win you some internet points for the day.

No need to reply. You're back banished to the Airfixx realm.

I stated taht DL priced him out of a move. From the article:

Perhaps that says something else to you.

This is pricing him out of a move. How do you not see this? Did I EVER make any claims about any offer being declined Stanley? You seem stuck on this point but I ask you to find any place where I've made that claim. That would be DL turning down offers not DL pricing him out of a move.

Good to know that it wasn't a question in good faith my man. And now you know why they were dealt with the way they were. Future 'good faith' questions will be as well.
You indeed did never make any claims about any offer being declined.

I'll conclude that you feel DL putting a too high price on Eriksen's head is the reason he didn't leave (correct?)

I feel that if a club would've been really interested, they would have made an (in their eyes) decent offer regardless of DL's crazy price tag, or at least started negotiations. So I feel CE didn't move because no club actually approached us. (The articles I found stated neither RM or others ever made a formal move). That's why I feel you shouldn't really blame DL for it (in this instance). Because the crazy price tag wouldn't be able to scare away any serious candidates.

You can believe the declared price tag did matter, I believe it didn't really. I'm OK if we disagree on this.

>I'm going to make a noncommittal statement about Sabitzer. After that TalkSport fella mentioned him already, of course. Tee hee, what am I like?
>Did you guys know Callum Wilson has a history of knee injuries?! #toptableonly
>You're not going to believe this, but Aurier is close to leaving. His destination... *holds sealed envelope to forehead*... Italy. No need to thank me for this revelation.

If anyone understands what I'm referring to by 'the elevator scene from Drive' you'll know exactly what I want to do to Hercules.
