Benjamin Sesko could be a good shout for another striker option. Great 2nd option now plus massive potential in the long term. Although almost certain Bayern will do their perfunctory business and get him

Looks like he's no fan of Arteta, either.

There won't be many games where we can go at less than near full strength next season unless we decide to sack off the domestic cups (which I really hope we don't).

We don't enter the League Cup until the 3rd round, and at that stage we could just as easily get City as a League One club. We can't mess about with the play-off round in the Champions League, and assuming we win that there won't be any games against weak teams in the group.
There's no playoff for the champs League

Brentford makes sense.

I’d be quite surprised if he went anywhere but Brentford or back to us.
Not that confident on Eriksen. He said recently that he didn’t get the Conte system as when he was attacking he liked to play the pass he saw. According to Conte you play his system at all times. That is play the pass as his system dictates. Eriksen said he got it in his head for second half of the season and played regularly as per the system in a deep lying role. Does he want to go back to that or be the main man somewhere else. Back to Spurs seems logical but don’t rule out Brentford. He will have a different aspect on life after his illness.

Yeah, it's a tough one. He's not bad, and we'll be going into the season as our 5th choice attacker. It's not the end of the world. But he would not be good enough to make it as City/Liverpool's 5th choice attacker, and that's the standards we have to be attempting to meet.

What do you do? Can't force him to leave I guess. You try to find a buyer, tell him that a club is looking to buy him and we would like to sell. I'm sure he'd get a decent move to a nice city in Italy.

It's really not that big a dilemma.

We could start the season with Kane, Son, Kulu, Richarlison, Eriksen & Lucas (with Parrot, Eteke & Scarlet in varying stages of the pipeline).

Matching squad depth man for man with City is a battle we can't win, but the above would be excellent.

Liverpool..... Still strong, but entirely comparable with Origi & Mane on the out.
Chavs.... Meh.
United.... Meh.
Arse.... Meh.
Lester.... Meh.
WHam.... Meh.
Everton.... Meh.
Wolves..... Meh.
etc.

If we’re revamping our scouting department then I don’t want us to spunk all our money this season.

50/60m net should be fine. Concentrate on getting deadwood out for reasonable fees without holding out for unrealistic prices. Then give the new scouting team time to bed in and have another exciting transfer window next year. We’ll have less deadwood to sell so we’ll need more cash reserves. At the very least we’ll need a top quality keeper.

Very optimistic times.

We are straight into the group stage. There is no playoff for 4th now.

It is very often a one way street with fans. As soon as they view a player as disposable he's essentially trash to them, see the treatment of someone like Winks who isn't really good enough but still isn't nearly deserving of some of the abuse he receives.

Lucas has given his all for the club & provided a great moment, if he wants to see out his contract and is happy with a bit part role, great.

Well put, fella. 👍

A short term deal could work for both parties. Gets to play champions league. And if things don't work out he can move on after a season.

Good example. 12 months ago Winks was determined to stay when we were happy to offload but what good did it do him? A wasted season for him. It doesnt do anyone any favours in the long run.

It's not a good example at all..... He chose to stay and fight for a spot as is his right under his contract and has yet got roundly abused.

If one expects professionalism when under contract from (eg) Kane then why should Winks get abused for the other side of the same coin?

5 subs rule changes a lot.

I never thought he should have got abused. I find that all completely uneccessary, as again he's done nothing wrong. However It seemed pretty obvious that his time was up with us 12 months ago and he decided to give it another year, fair play, thats his right. Just dont see what good its done his career really when he could have played 40 or so games for another decent prem club.

I doubt any of that gets paid if Bissouma gets any legal issues. We are talking Levy here, he will have covered this one way or another.
I don't think that will be covered in the contract with Brighton. They're not the ones that got Bissouma in trouble. For them it's probably "take it, Spurs, or leave it." If there's any clause it would be in the contract with the player.
