With Bergy off and Lucas being a bit part player and not long left on his contract, plus this long term search for proper goal scoring back up, buying both would make more than a lot of sense👍👍 when an opportunity presents itself, grab it….

The club/Levy doesnt want to be fighting every season for top 4, we want to cement our position in the top 4. Do City, Liverpool and Chelsea fight every season for top 4? No, ok Chelsea have a bit for a couple of seasons, but those teams are nailed on to be in the top 4, with two of them competing for the title. 4th place and maybe 3rd are up for grabs for a team to make it their own. Spurs to fight for the top 4 or cement that position, what do you think Levy wants?👍👍

I’ve been told that Levy wants to suck the club dry!

Pukki is actually a lovely player.

But would Man City or Liverpool bring in Pukki? They wouldn't. We need to act more like those clubs if we want to get to where they're at. Technical, physical, mental quality with the right age profile (22-27) if possible.

With Berg going surely we need a minimum of 2 forwards to get the strength in depth we're after.

Eriksen + Richarlison make sense, and compliment what we have.
We would then have Son/Kane/Kulu/Rich/Eriksen/Perisic/Lucas for the forward positions. With Gil on loan again.

I'm sure Paratici knows how to cover his tracks, and is not averse to putting out some misinformation to keep the media off the scent. In other words, we can't read too much in to the rumours from the club that we have cooled on Eriksen or whatever player.

Are we not the club who spunked £54m on Ndom? And then loaned Lo Celso and tied up the £27m deal 6 months later? £80m+ on those two, 2 years ago….

Is it a stretch to think spending another 30m-40m on the 2 R’s? Throw in Bergs money, something for Lucas, Winks etc plus the money we have…

If we want to compete in all competitions and truly challenge for the title we need more than just Kane, Son and one other. We were lucky last season that for once Son and Kane stated fit all season. So yes we should be buying two new attackers and not just one.

isn't Divoc Origi still hanging around Anfield collecting benefits?
He's hardly a 10 goals+ PL striker now is he?
Just left, but I get your point. He was their seventh choice attacking player behind Salah, Mane, Jota, Diaz, Firmino and marginally Minamino.

We won't have 7 attackers, we'll have five, maybe six. One of them will be Lucas. Whoever we bring in needs to closer to Diaz/Jota level than Pukki/Origi level.

The way I read the situation, all the european clubs, except maybe Bayern and a couple of traditional top clubs (but not Inter) are in a bad position financially, and generally want/need to sell top players (with high wages).

The other issue is that with covid I think many clubs put off contract extensions so there should be more players around with 1 or 2 years left on contracts.

PL is better off, but most of buying power is very much in the top say 6 clubs.

So this is the window where Spurs might be best buying the best available players available (which I suspect is the reason for the £150m capital injection). Depends of course on player availability but a once off window so anything is possible.

Lets see how the window unwinds but I think we'd be foolish not to feel optimistic, especially so early in the window.
