Agreed

It does raise questions around our young players.

Not their fault, of course, the squad has been built in such a cockeyed way I think there are going to be decisions made that wont sit well with everyone.

I like Tel and Odobert probably more than most on here, they do seem to get some stick. I dont think either are nailed on to succeed, but I do think both are talented and have potential - and should have a place in the squad

Similarly Grey and Bergvall, big potential, need to play

(and Vuskovic, Souza, Moore, LWB...)

To buy players to improve the team, to suit RDZ, to balance the squad (which is a mess) - Ive a sinking feeling we are going to end up either sacrificing some of these players - or just compromising them and stalling their careers

I understand we arent in a position to play them all, but I also cant help feeling very much against signings like Wilson for exactly these reasons

Spot on.

I’d much rather those minutes go to Tel, LWB, Mikey Moore.

If we are bringing in more wingers / attackers after Savio we need to bust the ceiling of the squad. A 29yo Harry Wilson on a 4y contract does not do that. It needs to be someone top tier.

The club knows we need more than kids with potential hence Robertson + Senesi. Wilson would be similar.

This fanbase needs to wake up. I thought avoiding relegation by the skin of our teeth would do it but clearly not.

Really comes down to your views on Wilson

I think Senesi is excellent business

I think Robertson is less exciting, but clever

I think between them our defence is suddenly well balanced, meaning SPence can support Porro at RB, we have proper rotations, we have a nice mix of experience and skill etc

I think Wilson is not the guy we need, free or not

£80m?
Do they (they being the clubs or the media) just pick a number out of a hat now?

I think Kudus/Wilson rotation is about right for where we are now and provided we make the big money upgrades elsewhere (LW / CF).

I would feel a lot more comfortable having a proven rotation option that can score goals then just taking a punt on Moore or Tel playing out of position. A club the size of Spurs should not be taking these punts. I'm also pretty sure RDZ won't tolerate it.

I think Tel is already more than a “kid with potential”. Without him we’d currently be debating the merits of Raul Jimenez vs Dwight Gayle for Scott Parker’s tricky championship lilywhites.

He scored similar numbers of goals to Wilson over the last 4 years. Agreed Wilson is very good in a specific area of the pitch but I think he offers little otherwise. He will end up at a mid-table team and be fine. We need to aim higher regardless of last years shit show.
