I guess that would solve the james maddison back up issue for when he's injuried. Just can't imagine tangy being any different in his workrate though no matter who's in charge
yes on the Maddison point. If/when he gets injured the only option to keep that creativity would be to maybe move Kulusevski in his position. I'm hoping ndombele comes good for that alone...we can't have enough creative players.

I wonder if Woolwich fans are moaning about the Declan Rice price tag because they once wasted £75m on Nicholas Pepe?

It doesnt overly bother me not spending £70m on a player i think you can counter that by being smart and quick in the market. What does piss me off about us is we clearly need 2 good centre backs, we've seemingly identified 2 but it appears we're only going to buy 1 of them and then fill out the other spot with cheap squad filler. Especially when we've gone cheaper for Vicario and free for Solomon. Thats why people get pissed off.

Its not just spend money for the sake of it, its closing on good players that are needed to improve the team and give it balance.
Exactly this. How can anyone with sense think then we’ve conceded 63 league goals, but a GK change (which was due anyway) and a single CB signing goes far enough to addressing the issue?

Sanchez knows the jig is up and is seeking a move, If Dier refuses to do the same, negotiate a termination. Both have a year left, if you could do it with Adebayor and Aurier, you can do the same with Dier.

Tanganga also needs to find a move Lower down the pyramid.

Dorrington is at least 2 years away from being ready

We need both and £80mil in this day and age is a pretty fair price I reckon.

Had his best season when Boro didn't want him and another team did.

Had a great performances on loan at Rennes against the best player in the world.

Conte didn't give him a chance because he wasn't what he wanted. The fault there is between the club's recruitment and Conte, it isn't on Spence.

The kid has/had an attitude and called out Warnock on socials after getting Forets promoted. Chances are his loan experience and Spurs experience has left him with zero illusions of what he has to do.

You could always just try taking a balanced view on the player instead of using him as a way to defend a manager that essentially torched the place on the way out.

btw I have said I was grateful in some ways for Conte calling Levy out.
It's all swings and round abouts.
We wanted levy exposed and Conte did that to some degree

It’s claimed Galatasaray have already rejected the north London club’s €22m bid for the Denmark international requested his release clause of €25m to be paid to sanction his sale.

Akşam state Ange Postecoglu’s side took time to consider the Turkish club’s request and have now ‘decided to pay’ the €25m fee to sign the centre-back in this window.

Should Nelsson join his ‘biggest suitor’ for €25m, the report states it’ll be a club-record sale for Galatasaray.

Why not just offer 25 million in the first place. Fucking hate that shit

If he does give him time and he is good then that's fine.
If he does give him time and he's useless, then what will everyone who has a disproportionate level of hate for Conte come out with next?

We have a player we signed from the Championship off the back of 1 good season. A player who was loaned out by his Championship club to another Championship club as they didn't think he was up to it. He then didn't get much time at Spurs as players were ahead of him. Then he didn't get much time when Spurs loaned him out as there were players ahead of him at Renne too.

So he wasn't wanted by Boro, wasn't used by Spurs, wasn't used by Rennes. His only sustained run of games was in the Championship.

But let's keep peddling the narrative it was all Conte as he's a nasty mean old man.
He was taken on by Rennes to cover their regular right back who I think was/is also their captain who was out injured. He played some games until the regular right back was fit again. He earned some good reviews at first.

I don't know whether Spence will turn out any good, time will tell. I don't blame Conte for not trying him although I did find it strange he didn't get more of a look in considering at the time Conte didn't seem to know who he wanted to play at right back.

It was Conte who labelled Spence a 'club signing', indicating he didn't really want him. And this is where I do blame Conte. You work with what you have and as a manager he should be good enough to get something out of the players in front of him. Effectively publically trashing Spence, Danjuma and I think Gil as 'club signings' he didn't want or approve is not helpful to anyone - the players or the club - all of whom will be around far longer than Conte was ever going to last.

Conte gets the blame because he acted like a petulant little shit who had a tantrum when he wasn't getting his own way.

If Big Ange unironically turned Ndombele around then we're living in blessed times.
