We’ll get Tosin,Phillips and Lenglet for £30 million rather than spend £80 million and have three of the best centre backs in the league and have that position sorted for 5 years. Tosin is ok but is not a starter,Phillips nowhere near ready for us and lenglet is lenglet. It defies fucking logic how we are acting like a championship club. This is Tottenham for fuck sake. Ange is pissing into the wind from a defensive point of view. We have the makings of really good squad if we add two top centre backs and Kane’s replacement. Ange will make us brilliant to watch but it’s totally pointless if we are winning 4-3,drawing 3-3 and losing games 3-2 regularly. We won’t go forward. The frustrating thing is I think we have a manager now who could take us to the next level if backed correctly. Not Conte backing but backed just to get us not soft defensively.
I think this is the last straw for Levy. Do your fucking job and worry more about what Tottenham is rather than an entertainment complex.

Lol I'm not making any excuses for our window. It hasn't been good enough. As far as I'm concerned we have made some good additions but have fallen short of expectations and our defence as it stands is actually weaker.

I think for VdV it was close. Personal terms agreed, he had flown here to meet the club and Ange, it's seems everyone thought the deal would go through. Since then nada, zilch, fuck all going on. ......Weird.

The only reason not to progress with van de Ven was because we would have preferred to put all of our resources into Tapsoba instead.

10 days until our next friendly? You'd like to think we've got a new first choice centre back in by then.

We agreed personal terms with Raya, means nothing really, just that, that part is easy to do, so just get that bit done first.

So what's the issue?

1. Asking price is actually higher than £42m?
2. Levy and co are not sure if Tapsoba is actually good enough.
3. Levy and co are just flat out not willing to pay £42m.

Only option 1 is really justifiable. After years of needing a CB and supposed scouting, surely they must know if Tapsoba is good enough, and if he is, they must understand that in the current market £42m isn't really an outrageous amount.
