People are acting like last season’s goals conceded (shocking) Is the inevitable consequence of the squad that we have. They forget that the season before last we only conceded 40 goals, the fourth lowest in the league, with exactly the same defenders (in fact, arguably worse).

So I think the current players can do significantly better next year with some proper coaching. I’m confident we’ll concede less with a far more attacking style of play.

Of course I want a first choice LCB to come in on top but football fans are goldfish.
We will concede less because we have the ball an awful lot more. Add 2 top centre backs and it goes to another level. I’ll bet with anyone right now that we score more goals than we did last season with or without Kane. If you marry that with good defenders it isn’t rocket science to know there will be a massive upturn in performances, where we finish and actually enjoying watching Tottenham again.

Lol at the Kane news.

what a clusterfuck. I couldn’t think of worse preparation for the season. 3 weeks until opening matchday and ZERO new defenders, still 6 senior players over the squad limit, a bloated mess of deadwood, all clouded by massive uncertainty over our star striker…

And seemingly, Kane stops us from making any progress on any other transfer in the entire bloody football club, be it VdV or Tosin or Hojbjerg or Sanchez or even an easy youth deal like Ash Phillips.

No. We have to put the entire operation on ice to sort out the Kane situation, which will inevitably be dragged out for weeks to squeeze £3m extra, and completely stall any other transfers in the pipeline.

I hate this shite football club so much. We aren’t serious. The behavior listed above is that of rank amateurs.

If Ange somehow brings us success this season he’s not just world class, he’s a bloody miracle worker.
Hate to be the barer of bad news, but the season starts 2 weeks today...

I’m pretty sure everything isn’t stopped until the Kane situation is sorted. There’s nothing happening because we won’t pay clubs what their players are worth.

And the two years before that outlier those same shit defenders finished well outside the top 4. 4th was a blip, not a trend.

Dangerous thoughts like you describe are the type of demented ideas I imagine go through Levys tiny, shiny head too. Clear objective example of how and why he doesn’t understand football, pound shop steward / Mr Byrite

They’re now coming on a V2👍👍

You know I actually don’t mind the bulk of this under Ange.
The glaring issue is obviously the centre backs, and lack of a Royal like player on the left, which I think will actually come to bite us.

Also just get Hojberg out of this line up please
I actually rate GLC enough to start him while Bentancur is injured as he suits Ange 433.
But people on this thread get very angry whenever I praise the guy.

It’s so obvious the squad needs CBs, beyond that it’s alright. Obviously Kane would need an elite replacement.

Do we think we're not buying any CB's as Levy wants to end the window on a high? If he had signed a quality CB two weeks ago, it would be near forgotten by the time we sell Kane. Then the fanbase is fed up again. I'm guessing we sell Kane and then go after our targets. Far from ideal and classic Levy, but this might be the play.
I think Levy much rather have wrapped up the CBs before he sells Kane - as prices most probably will increase after Spurs cash in (although it's not really a secret that Kane want to get out and Bayern is his most likely destination).

I think you and a few others have mentioned it before, we should just go nuts and get some good wingers in, and put Son/Richie up front.

angie obviously too nice right now, needed to kick up a conte like fuss to get Levy to actually do something. only time apart from spending Bale money the club actually acted like a big club minus failing to secure a CB and opting for lenglet on loan

Brentford looking so tough right now, smashed at home last season without toney. We'll be mildly better as Donkey Forster wont be in goal, no sanchez in defense.
what a cluster though

People need to just relax.

If a club not signing a defender is riling you up this much I am going to suggest logging off and going for a nice long walk.

I'd say that some of the guys on here probably take football way too seriously to really let something out of their control have them foam at the mouth.

But we're all sitting here on a football forum discussing football in our spare time. So maybe that's all of us.

What is the point of this post?

To show that Utd doesn't have a clue about buying CBs? (dreaming of signing Jonny Evans, spunking £80m on Maguire)?

or that we must follow Woolwich's example by proving that they too literally don't have a clue about singing CBs and that we should have signed 12 of them spending the highest amount of money in the process? (if only we had signed Kiwor, Trusty, Mari, Luiz, Sokratis, Mustafi and Rob Holding we would be flying?)

What is this shit?
