I thought Romano said Hojbjerg and Atletico agreed terms but it was now just about structure and potential future fees?

How can Hojbjerg reject?

Maybe Poch saw the academy was failing to pick up talent.
10 players for £100m is just deadwood quite frankly. The best players we've actually sold for money? Winks, Carrol? Mason, Townsend, Bentaleb? It's all so fucking average.

Chelsea get £30-£60m for their youth, who aren't all great but way better than those.

If that is the case, Poch failed to get better kids into the academy.

And with his own pet project bought Juan Foyth for £10m, failed to develop him properly so when he made his debut 2 years later gave away 2 pens , lasted another year or two playing a total of 14 games before being sold. So complete failure to develop a player

Meanwhile one of the players Poch sold for a song, Milos Veljkovic, played CB for Werder Bremen when Kane made his debut for Bayern. World Class ? No but good enough to have played 200 times for Werder Bremen and a regular for Serbia National Team ........ so probably could have been an HG squad player for us.

But with Poch attitude to developing youth a few good ones left early so they could develop elsewhere, Madueke is a classic example - Spurs u16 captain - who could have stayed rather than being a 35m or 40m acquisition for Chelsea

what happens to oliver skipp if we sign Gallagher, as i should he'd be rotation for sarr. does skipp drop back to the 6 role and become nbackup for bissouma
That would be ideal IMO. Skipp wouldn't nearly as good in possession, but out of possession he should be just as good (if he can find a bit of form again)

Because we have at least 17 non-HG. Max 8 HG allowed in squad of 25.
I don't think that's right is it ?

Surely you can have all 25 HG, it's a minimum number not a maximum.

Premier League 25-Man Squad Rules
A Premier League squad can contain no more than 17 players who do not fulfill the “Homegrown Player” criteria. The remainder of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be homegrown. Changes to the squad list may be made during the period of a transfer window.

The loan with obligation means you can put the transfer off for a year. So no initial cost, unlike a transfer.
And you get the double PR benefit of claiming the spend now for your fans, then claiming it again as part of net spend when you actually pay it.

Like how Spurs try to pretend their net spend is so huge by counting Kulu and Porro buys, even though they touted those as big spending back when we bought them.

I’m pretty sure that report is off the mark, it seems the issue is that Atletico just submitted a loan without an obligation to buy.

I don’t think PEH is the one turning that down I’m pretty sure Levy is the one telling them no.

We turned down the loan offers.

Dier wants a loan

No, he doesn’t. You’ve been insisting on this for the entire window. The same as you insist that Tosin wants to come to us. I can’t help wondering if you are being deliberately obtuse.

It’s been repeatedly stated that he intends to run down his contract and go abroad. He would be OPEN to a continental loan. If he doesn’t want the pretty seaside town of Bournemouth, do you think he wants to go to fucking Burnley?
