Clubs must have serious doubts about Toney. Normally a striker like that would have been snapped up.
Ange wants good characters so may be Toney isn’t one.
No need for that maybe. You're being way too kind on the lad. He bet against his own team. They pay and support him while he's suspended, then he goes do interviews where he clearly states he wants to move on asap. Only reason Brentford didn't kick up a fuss is cause they couldn't have him refuse to train and play, would've affected their results and his value. So they swallowed it. But the guy is clearly a cunt.

Yeah when even Woolwich, who happily employ a rapist, don't even want you there's something up.

This is small club mentality though, we sold Kane our All time PL goal scorer and still haven't replaced him, we shouldn't accept this mediocrity and we should absolutely be looking to sign a striker to replace Kane and who is better than who we have!

Wait until they trot out the reason we haven’t pushed the button on players is because we need to sell Richy to cover the fees. Can see it coming a mile off from the club. It’s exactly the bullshit they’ll feed us and we will be forced to accept.

If Chiesa was the players he was, Juve wouldn’t be looking to move him. There would be a rush to buy him.
I think we can do better . He will be on serious wages.

How many times has this been answered.

He was one year left on his contract... He doesn't want to sign an extension.... And they don't want to lose him on a free...

Looking at their transfer dealings like moving on Berrenechea, Soule and Huijsen they're clearly not a very good judge of talent either.

If there is no striker available better than what we have, why would we sign them?

If Ange thinks Solanke or Toney is an upgrade we will probably try to buy one of them. If they think Gyökeres can cut the mustard in the PL they'll probably have a crack at him. If they upgrade other positions and not the striker they must not rate the strikers any better than what we have.

Son is ageing & Richie is hit and miss and Injury Prone - If we go into next season without signing another Striker who can compete with what we currently have then I think it is a huge failure!
Don't get me wrong I know its not the easiest position to recruit for but we sold Kane for £100 Million nearly a year ago - We should have had his replacement lined up long before we sold him otherwise we are going to get into a situation soon where we are not only having to replace Kane who we sold lat summer, but we are also having to replace Son.

I'm making my peace with the idea of signing Toney, as a final-hour Levy haggle-down purchase somehow feels inevitable.

He is without question a terrible person, but I rate him above Richarlison as a striker and reckon he'll score a load for us.

As I said the fans moaning about us not signing players for the pre season tour and apparently letting Ange down or something...those players wouldn't have made the tour anyway as they are still on holiday so it would have made fuck all difference, such a stupid argument but people love to be outraged for no reason so...
It’s also given Ange a good chance to look at a few youngsters and touch wood they have done very well

Assuming the mystery 3 players are being delayed due to them making it to the finals / semifinals of either the Euros or Copa final 4, who are they likely to be?

Netherlands:
Xavi Simons

France:
?

England:
Bowen
Eze
Gallagher
Toney

Spain:
Olmo
Williams

Canada:
David

Uruguay:
?

Colombia:
?

Argentina:

?

Who did I miss?
I’d like to say Lautaro Martinez but doubt it. The obvious one missing which I reckon is a strong possibility is Santiago Gimenez.

We should give up in that case - lunacy

Its worth looking at both Liverpool and Woolwich in recent years - both went without a conventional striker for several years, reason simply good strikers weren't available. at any sensible cost.

Both went down the road of getting forwards who might have been described by some as wing forwars etc - and that's why Salah became Liverpool's main goal scorer.

And whilst ManU had strikers (eg Martial), usually they underwhelmed with goals coming from lots of other positions !
