that injury ruined his explosiveness, good technique still but feels like it would be a depth signing which we don't need. We need players on the level of Son or that are likely to reach that level or surpass .
when it comes to key positions we are too wealthy to still be looking in the bins for a french fry

When you consider our lack of HG players and the fact we likely won't renew Werners loan, have got rid of Perisic and will likely sell Gil and Solomon, depth is exactly what we need for the wide positions.

What he can't be (if we do sign him) is the star winger in the team. Whilst I think if he fulfils his potential, he could be, we need someone who can come in now and like you say, surpass Son.

Hudson Odoi would be a smart signing, HG, brilliant technique, brilliant dribbler and can play either wing. But hes depth and opportunistic based on Forests financial troubles.

Still the best youngster I've ever seen at youth level though in this country so I am probably bias towards him anyway 😂

Rather keep Werner if CHO is the backup option

Hard hard pass on this. Really don't want to see Werner play for us again. He did a job but CHO is totally different with the ball at his feet.

Looked pretty explosive this season. I don't see why an Achilles injury would unrecoverable at that age.

Don't forget that we are black belt Olympic barrel scraping champions........well someone is....

This guy is so clear of Werner technically, it's funny.

I do agree that the explosiveness that made him special isn't quite there and playing wing back for a while definitely halted his development but confidence is a huge thing and he's got it back.

he has definitely lost that instant explosive acceleration and electric pace he had at Chelsea. It was a ruptured Achilles, that injury does have a long term effect

The way this club conducts it's transfer business literally disgusts me.

We should be identifying targets that immediately improve are starting XI and using our immense wealth and unrivalled FFP to fight toot and nail to secure them ahead of our rivals.
.
Damn right fella!

Who do you think those targets should be?

No real pace and comes inside every time. We need a touchline winger to stretch the play. Not sure how many times it needs saying that is what Ange is after from watching us this season.

If you say that I believe you...

tbh I'm already sick of talking about a player that should only ever be a reclamation project and depth option. At least to start with.

If that is the big signing we make on the wing, shut the club down, sell the stadium for parts, and start again like Wimbledon.

It's funny when people say that spending big doesn't work blah blah or guarantee success blah blah to try and justify our cut price bargain hunting......

Then the same people complain about the likes of Man City etc buying their titles

:harrylol:

So true, City are just successful because of their scouting if we go by that logic.

Nothing to do with investing heavily and well at key moments in terms of both fee AND salary.

In the PL?

I've only ever seen him on the left.

Hes played across the front three at youth level and when he broke through at Chelsea he played on the right (because Hazard played on the left also). I remember him destroying Rose in the League Cup semi final way back.

Incredibly two footed so versatile. I don't like the fees banded about but if we can get this guy in for a reasonable fee and take advantage of Forests issues, this really should be a no brainer. Gil and Solomon would probably cover the transfer fee alone.

But priority still needs to be that starting winger. Even though that seems to be more for the right side. As it looks like Son is back to being LW.
