Is he?

How many has he scored since he’s come back ?

4 in 11, prior to his gambling a 1 in 2 striker. So decent. I am not going on stats though just on the eye and on the eye he is far superior to Watkins, he can hold the ball up, drop deep and pass dangerously, run the channels and has an unpredictable edge in his attacking. A far more involved attacker than Watkins or Richarlison.

My only concern is his gambling and arrogant attitude.

We've got to interested in Toney. The boy has a bit of everything and defenders must hate him. He's strong, reasonably quick, great technique, can rough up defenders, great hold up play with vision to play in others and scores all sorts of goals. Would even be good at set pieces both ends.

With Woolwich supposedly ruling themselves out and Toney adamant to leave, I do wonder...

He isn't going to go United. He isn't going to go City. Liverpool don't need a striker. Who the fuck would go to Chelsea?

Where else is there for him? Abroad? Can't see it.

On the other hand he was captain pushing his team constantly yesterday against United.

He is bit of a dickhead but I can’t deny he is close to being a very elite level striker. As you say he can do a bit of everything including the Kane drop deep and play make.

Nah..... He can hold the ball up well; but you're seriously under-rating Kane's ability with a ball if you think that.

W don't need a striker that can drop deep though. i do agree he's better than Watkins but without penalties he's never been a 1 in 2 striker and never scored 20 league goals in a top league. He's what? 29? Has never been and never will be an elite striker. He's a very good one but that's as far as it goes. Plus he's complete weapon and is likely to bet against his own team, even when he's playing.

He probably would tbh, I think they want Osimhen but I can see him going to PSG.

Dont see it with Toney. He's decent but not someone thats going to take us up levels and at 28 and £65m to £75m i just dont see it. Plus we clearly like good charachters and i'm not sure he's anywhere near that. His openeness about buggering off from the club that gave him his real opportunity and backed him during his ban is pretty shit.

He did last season.
33 EPL apps / 20 G / 4A

Turned 28 a couple of weeks ago.

Not saying he is Kane, no-one is Kane but Toney is very effective at dropping deep and linking/switching the play if you watch him. That is something Richarlison isn’t that great at and I do think we miss having a striker who can drop into holes and switch/link the play effectively. Isak is also decent at that.

Toney would take us up another level but I don't think it's a priority position, get a couple of wingers and are we'd go even higher.

Biggest concern for me.

And the fact that he's not exactly the best fit...... We'd just be spending big money cos he's available rather than him ticking all our boxes.

When you say "play making" re: Kane I think of his exceptional passing ability and creative play which in itself was borderline world class and frankly insane for a ST.

He's only averaged 48mins per La Liga appearance (1058 / 22 apps) this season.

5 G / 7 A = 1 G/A per 88 mins though which is v.good.

..............On that basis; why is he not playing more?

.... Why do they want rid? .....It doesn't stack up?

Probably because of the emergence of Lamal and he's seen as a saleable asset to get money, that's been their M.O for the last couple of years.

I find the hate a bit forced Tbh, he's a bit underwhelming compared to Williams but he'd do a good job in our team.
