He is bad. He's a miserly wanker that really isn't bothered if the football team that fronts the brand actually wins anything just makes money. Pretty sure even Ben Davis thinks this and he has a degree and everything. I get people get sick of hearing it but that does not make it less true. Only he can change this perception. And here's the thing even his most ardent critics would hold their hands up if he did indeed attempt to win a trophy. EVEN IF WE FAILED. Say he went there Krava, Eze, Robinson, Sesko. Then followed it up with three more top quality players he'd get cut alot more slack. He's built the infrastructure now he has to match the ambition he had in his pursuit of that.

People are welcome to their opinions; it's the one-track-minded, highly repetitive posters (same twat jokes and jibes over and over; nothing constructive to say on any other footballing topic, brown-nosing our rivals for 'political' capital) that get on people's tits..... None more so those that are blatantly only interested in trolling.

Lol you missed the point.

I wasn't defending or criticising Levy. The post wasn't about Levy.

It was about John Thomas John Thomas who, when asked a legitimate question on here, ducks it and can only post anti-Levy stuff.

But hey...if I needed to explain the joke then it was a shit joke. My bad!
I didn't miss the point. You said Levy bad I agreed. Whatever John's obsession its the truth, and my grands worth of season ticket hangs in the balance for the bad man, which way will he jump. That's the reality for me Bob, it's not some academic exercise of Internet one-upmanship.

I've kind of discounted the idea that we'll sign Gallagher, just because we've been linked to him for so long now. For the early stages of the window last year it felt inconcievable that our centre back and keeper signing wouldn't be Tapsoba and Raya. (Obviously thrilled we ended up getting who we did). We're a club that's in many ways all too predictable, but also one that you have no idea what going on in the minds of those who matter.

Thats why Maddison felt so strange. A player we'd been speaking about for 12 months ended up coming. Doesn't happen too often.

For clarity, you're asking what views would be on a transfer window consisting of Gallagher, Hudson Odoi and Toney?

If we want to be stagnant, then it's bang average - 5/10

If we want to progress, then it's shit 3/10 at best.

Can't be anymore direct in answering your question than that.

Also, don't particularly appreciate being referred to as a 'most pro Levy and transfer work crew'. I am not. But will leave that there.

It's a twattish way to start any (allegedly) genuine attempt at a conversation.

"Transfer woke" is a new one tho..... And it's just as shit.

Why are you so eager for me to appease your desperate little coping fetish?

I've said plenty of times on here how utterley pissed off if we end up buying a load of shite this Summer, I literally just said that I didn't want Toney on a previous page, CHO I will be fine with as long as we target another winger and I'm a fan of Gallagher.

But that nonsense tweet is designed for people like you because it's disingenuous crap purely to drive engagement amongst the boneheaded fans who buy into this shit, there's a reason why I have that idiot blocked.

You're honestly such a weirdo

Hypothetical situation to discuss in a thread entirely based on hypothetical signings.

Why duck it?

You can choose to engage with it or not. It's still true however boring you find their input. I have found absolute levels of zen utterly ignoring the people I'd not interact with in real life. Try it works wonders.

.....John has proven time and time again that he has a VERY tenuous relationship with the truth.

Appreciated mate.

That's all I was asking.

tbh I am dreading this window and really don't want it to be defensible if Levy pulls a meagre budget out for them to work with.

Fair enough on the jibe. Was just taking the piss.

Do we know for sure that Ange likes him? I just thought this was Levyest - trying to get a bargain because of FFP
Nobody knows. Except Ange.

Many on here will claim to know, but they don’t have a clue.

And even if Ange comes out when he’s signed to say “I love him and have wanted to sign him since day one”, the cry will be “what else is he supposed to say?”.

We could start by getting a goalkeeper who can defend set pieces :)
In terms of % of saves by difficulty of the shots he received, he's been amongst the top 3 shot stoppers in EPL.
His % of crosses caught was average, but still higher than Alisson's.
With regards to sweeping, he had the highest numbers of balls played outside of the penalty area.
Distribution was also good.
He is not young anymore, but he is still younger than his direct competitors (Ederson, Alisson, Onana, Pope, Pickford, Raya)

I'd say the role we'd struggle the most in improving is GK.
None of our players have a better claim in being amongst the very best in their role (or top 3) than Vic.
Some of our starters aren't even top 20 in the world, and maybe not even top 30.

I'm normally down on Levy and the transfer BS we put ourselves through, but I'm looking at the potential strikers available (even as a reach with unlimited money) and..... who? Like, who the hell are we even HOPING for unrealistically this window?

Not great to have a very shallow pool of option for our biggest need.
