So, not do a Henderson then.

No top 6 European club wanted him now, they aren't going to want him in a years time when he's closer to 30 and wasted a year of his career in a terrible league.
I meant moving after a year, actually. His goal record is surprisingly average, I thought he'd had around 3-4 seasons of around 15+!! I still think he could quite easily get signed up by a top 6 club if his value goes down enough, I think 30-35m will get clubs sniffing around him

No, it isn't. If Cardoso comes in it will be in place of one of Bissouma or Bentancur.
Please explain to me why he would directly replace Bissouma or Bentancur ahead of Bergvall or Gray who are already getting minutes in both those positions? (FYI, this isn't my belief about whether they're good enough, this is observing the actions and statements of our manager)

Why would he need to be ahead of them? It's a squad game and we need a good number of players. And Bergvall is not playing in Bissouma's position anyway.

I think Toney will do a Henderson and go for a year, get bored and then get signed by some top 6 european club.
Who knows, but really doubt that.

He has ONE good year at top-flight football (the year before last), he has no pedigree whatsoever, and he scored FOUR goals last season (yes he was banned, another red flag, but he still played 17 games last year, not exactly prolific is he?).

Given the state of the striker market, he may do a Lukaku and end up at Napoli/Inter/Milan/Juve but I don't see any "top-flight" PL Club want him (Chavs excluded). He's done.

had no idea who he was so I can only say statistically perfect because that’s all I’ve got to go on until I watch him.
Fair play on the honesty. I think we're all victims of the modern day accessibility of information, stats etc. I dunno, maybe I'm a bit old school but I wouldn't describe anyone as perfect for anything without having witnessed them with my own eyes. It's like offering someone a job based solely on their CV.

Bissouma both currently have 2 years left, next Summer they will both have 1, one will leave or maybe both (although that's doubtful). That leaves us with 3 players who can play 6, presumably if we take up the option of Cardozo...Bentancur/Bissouma, Gray and Cardozo.

Bergvall isn't a 6 either.

Statistically perfect is all I can say mate. I’m going to watch him in person and on TV this season now

And you know enough about Cardosa that he's able to replace Bissouma OR Bentancur? My point is that Gray and Bergvall are two players who are individually competing for 6 and 8 spot in the starting 11, separately.

So now it's a squad game.. I am specifically addressing the idea the term, replacement. Both of them are nailed on first 11 players so if he is replacing them then yes, he would start ahead of the current alternatives.

I don't think Reguilon will be integrated but looking at that maybe we should be able to get through at least until January anyway.

I'm annoyed we didn't buy a LB but between Spence, VDV and Davies there's enough cover there for a few month isn't there.

Also the GK situation isn't great, best hope Vic stays healthy throughout the season.

Here are the player I saw had been linked to Spurs by different media outlets for this 2024 summer TW.
And, before anyone think I believe Spurs were after all these players: no, I don't! I just posting this to show how the media love to link various clubs to player for the sake of click baits (but some - or rather a few - of the links are, of course, genuine)

I'm sorry if you can't understand the concept of one player replacing another one it's because you really don't want to understand it. I'm done with this idiotic conversation.

I think it's been an average window.…….yeah but I quite like the underwhelming of it the buys are steady with potential with obviously the exception of Solanke who‘s more experienced and ideal for what we want…..in past windows there’s been a big fuss who we‘ve taken and its back fired more often than not

We needed at least three more, a backup GK, a LB/LCB and a proper midfielder.

Our squad has probably slightly improved but not enough imo to catch up with the Top 3. Indeed, the gap has probably increased.

Finishing 4th or 5th won't be easy, United have made some moves, Chelsea seem a mess but they do have some genuine quality in their squad and we're not guaranteed to finish above any of Newcastle, Villa, Brighton or even West Ham.

It could be a tough season, how long will Ange last?
We have agreed to buy a proper midfielder though, hang on though we have sold him before he’s ours. Why the hell didn’t we bring that guy from Betis over now?
