Match The Bodø Affair: The Mighty Tottenham vs Bodø/Glimt of Nordland - 2000hrs 1st May 2025 - UEFA Europa League Semi Final Leg 1

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I genuinely believe we win this tournament. The 4 teams remaining are nothing special, and whilst Ange is a handicap we have seen worse sides win trophies against the odds. I think we continue to drop points in the league but get through this tie into the final.
Bilbao are 4th in La Liga, only lost 4 games out of 31. The final is at theirs. They have Nico & Inaki Williams...both a real handful. Oihan Sancet is quality too. Defo the best team out of the 4 still in the tourney.

Definitely fishermen. Bodo is an active cargo and fishing port and also very popular for tourism in taking people out to catch.

Frankly, I’m surprised at the lack of fishing puns in this thread. Maybe it’s too early. As this thread is. We don’t need to get too hooked up with having to tackle the plastic pitch yet.

:mourweird:
Let's do the business at our plaice first, then we just gotta hope the players all sing the same tuna out in Norway.

Beat that lotte and we're on the rod to glory.

Yeah athletic clear favourites for me

If we beat bodo and united cheese their way past athletic in their 2nd leg at old Trafford with the help of the refs. And tobys giant head

Then I think we'll 100 percent do it, zero fear of this united team

Hopefully we are going to score a few in the 1st leg to make the 2nd on the artificial a nice and easy game. Even decent players can find the artificial challenging , remember when we were 3-0 down to Young Boys , seem to recollect Bassong and Dawson struggling to turn on the surface, this was our squad.

01 Gomes
03 Bale
19 Bassong yellow card
20 Dawson
22 Corluka
32 Assou-Ekotto yellowcard (Huddlestone 36)
12 Palacios
14 Modric (Kranjcar 46)
09 Pavlyuchenko
17 Giovani
18 Defoe (Keane 66)
Substitutes

23 Cudicini, 04 Kaboul,06 Huddlestone, 07 Lennon, 21 Kranjcar, 10 Keane, 15 Crouch

If we're to win it, gotta say it'd be even more special to beat those northern cunts in the final.

Get Pedro Mendes to hand them their losers' medals.

Don’t worry about who we could possibly get in the final. If we get Bilbao it’ll still be 50/50 fans.

Let’s worry about Bodo, they’ve got enough to embarrass us and we need to be on our game
Regardless of whether it's 50/50 fans, Bilbao will know the pitch very well and will still feel like it's a 'home' game. Familiar surroundings, no travel etc etc.

I agree about Bodo, they're the form team left in the competition, on a plastic pitch. They are more than capable of scoring at our place too.

They're also one tie away from an unprecedented European cup final, which is huge for them I'm sure.

People on this forum are treating them like the walkover that they certainly are not, especially with the form we're in.

The UEFA club rankings have us at 32nd and Bodo at 42nd, so they're not a million miles off our perceived ranking.

It's still going to be cold mate. I've played golf in Lofoten in May which is a bit further north ... 24 hrs of daylight but still only 3 or 4 degrees. I think sunset in Bodo will be about 10.30pm in early May. As I keep telling people they are no mugs. They have broken Rosenborgs complete dominance of Norwegian football with a fraction of the budget and this is not going to be the pushover some think it might be. Must get a decent lead in the first leg and then play smart, methodical football in the second leg.
Not sure why anyone would be daft enough to think that any team we meet in a semifinal of a European cup competition would be a pushover?
