Yeah you're right, why not kick it long and put their defense under some pressure. At the end of the day the stat was that their goalkeeper had let in the vast majority of all shots faced on target, and that was proven by us scoring from the only shots we had on target. Suggest that had we forced some more shots we would have got more goals. Playing out from the back doesn't allow that to happen in a game like today's.
Thing is that our way. One thing I have learnt from watching pochettino teams is that they tend to stick at it, play their way.
We may change formation but the philosophy is the same.
We will have to learn to do it better.

Politely, that's nonsense. Alderwiereld, Rose and Walker were fine. Only seven players underperformed. We still got a point. Against Pep's superstars. Result.
Fair enough, just such a shit game and this team has been performing so well that's its hard to look at an OK game from a player as anything but a letdown.

Remember that game at home where rose was sent off and city were awarded a penalty for a legitimate tackle? We ended up losing 5-1. I don't feel bad for city at all. Swings and roundabouts. Everyone gets shafted at some stage

The 2 points dropped aside... sometimes, a draw actually is as good as a win!

I think we proved that today.

...mentally, we made way more of a statement than 'simply' winning would have...
City were in disarray before the match, we wouldn't have got any credit even if we'd won.

As it was, City were wounded, they came out fighting, they were back to their best... they went 2-0 up... at home... against an ever depleted Spurs defence... they were well on course for a well deserved, morale-boosting victory...

...and yet they still didn't win!

What does that tell you about both them, and us?!

Game tells two tales. Great spirit to come back when we playing so bad. But we cannot defend like that and give teams like that a head start. In games where we don't start or play well, we seem to need to go behind before we start playing. Not won away against our rivals. That's probably the difference between winning a title.

City can moan all they want and go on about how they 'deserved' it and that penalty that never was but they got two gifts. Simple as that!
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
