It may be an imprisonable offence to say this, but Kane is one of the worst offenders, imo.
We wouldn't be in a position to think we deserve trophies without Kane.
I think people forget that. We lucked out with him appearing, especially after Bale was sold and hope was low that we'd ever see a talent like that again.

He's given his heart and soul for this club as it's all time top goalscorer! How can you say that?
This is true. Greavsie's also a top goalscorer, so would you give him a new contract too?

I think Kane's best days are behind him. Time to move on, while we can still get a fair price for him. Kane is the past, not the future.

Yes his career has been pretty much wasted at Spurs, I really hoped he would he would get a winners medal with England and came close with the last euros. Selling him now is the only option I think. Greavsie was lucky to play for a club that was ambitious on the pitch back then. I remember the 80's they were good too. We're financially stable now which is something enic have achieved, now it's time to push on and win things.

I always try to be glass half full. (In life in general).

And we seem to be a bit shit right now don’t we.

But we also one of the best football clubs in the country.
So not sure if that says more about Spurs, our expectations or broken Britain 2023.

Yup.

A rebuild under a rested & rejuvenated Poch would be my preferred solution.

Unfortunately he has become - in the words of Jose- a “specialist in failure” when the big matches arrive.

Sad but true.
There’s a man element of truth to this, and he has gone missing in big games.

But he categorically did not get a single bit of support on Wednesday. The one moment of middling quality and he almost took the game to extra time.

He’s had chances on other occasions and failed to capitalise or make the night his own.

But he’s aging. The amount we use him in the league is stupid.
That’s on the club more than on him though.

In recent years he would be dropping deep trying to make things happen. That's been absent this season, as reflected in his assists dropping off the scale.

It's been said he's been told to stay up, but nobody is creating for him. He goes missing in knockout games, no question, but he also cannot do it all alone.

It's clear that the team aren't trying now. Clear to everyone except Levy.

Well actually it's late evening but I got up late.
I've been a supporter for 50 plus years and have enjoyed / endured highs and lows, like most of us.
But this past week has had a really negative effect on me. Obviously I get annoyed / upset when we lose, but this is different somehow.
After the Sheff Utd game. the overriding emotion was sheer anger and luckily enough I had something else to do when we played Wolves.
Then last night, we didn't turn up yet again. Where's the hunger, where's the passion? We just surrendered without so much as a whimper.
I can take losing but not like that. There's no leadership on or off the pitch, it's absolutely pathetic.
The responsibility on how things have imploded has to be shared among the Board, the coaching staff and the players.
I honestly don't know how to fix it, but it's going to need a miracle.
So despondent, it's untrue, but I'll be there for Forest, and all the the rest of the home games until the end of the season. I'll probably renew for next year too.
Just wanted to vent really to people who understand where I'm coming from.
TTID (God help me!)

Too honest and so revealing. It’s the irrationality of support.

Tomorrow might not be the day your love returns.

Levy needs to get Conte out of the club.

Been a supporter for over 40 years and now my sons are avid spurs fans too. To see them so despondent, dissapointed and angry makes me feel what the fuck have I bequeathed to them.

Saw this elsewhere and had to laugh.

A Spurs supporter has asked that some club officials and players act as pallbearers at his funeral so they can let him down one last time.

Even if the players don’t want to play for the manager anymore , surely they want to play for the fans?
It isn’t cheap going to a game, or are they just pampered millionaires these days, without getting all political I’m pretty sure a Premier-league footballer doesn’t need to worry about energy bills rising do they, it annoys me as some people might literally be able to afford 1 game a year , I just wish the players actually looked like they gave a shit!
If we go to a game and we lose , that’s football , however if we lose because we don’t put the effort in then there are no excuses!
Oddly it did feel like they cared tbh but were paralysed by the system. I’m a few rows from the front and I think you get a feel from the players in the stadium that doesn’t really translate to tv. Maybe it’s wishful thinking but I’ll still be as positive as I can be tomorrow- I tend to brand myself as a supporter not a fan :)

why do you think neutrals call it 'spursy'. the clubs soft from top to bottom, even the fans are soft.

sheff united beat us apparently with their second string. that tells you all you need to know, they might not be as good technically but they have actual men in their side, we have pampered little meek boys. the ones we do have that are up for a war like romero and rich, get slated by their own fans. this club gets what it deserves.
Take that back NOW :pochcry:

Like most I've become more apathetic than ever the last 3/4 seasons.

Mostly because it feels as though the issues at the club. aren't even being recognised, much less a plan put in place to do something about it.

Its easy to say with hindsight but I think I said at the time that the big name managers were always a bargain attempt to look like the board were seriously trying to take the club forward.

Kind of a smart move by levy to keep the wolves away from his door. He knew he could turn round and say 'well we've got the biggest names in football here on huge wages' blah blah and the fans would have less ammo about a lack of ambition but just look at the numbers. Yes, Conte is on £15 million a year, but that money would barely buy a back up goalkeeper these days.

The squad has needed real investment for years and watching us now does resemble the last fart of a dying corpse. To be honest, I won't be sad to see the back of 95% our current squad. I think this reliance on Kane and Son has also probably kept us from building a decent team over the years, so while I can't blame our current situation on our best 2 players, I actually think at this stage they won't be part of the solution either.

It looks like it will be a long journey for us from here - even if we scrape 4th this season. We have been limping out of cup competitions with an absolute whimper for years now. There have been some absolutely disgraceful exits that just don't surprise/anger me that much any more!

I don't think I can turn up/switch on and watch us while Conte is in charge, so bored of the football we play, it's been crap for years and there's so little joy in watching us that you have to ask, whats the point?

Couldn't give a damn what our rivals are doing. I pay and turn up to Spurs games to watch Spurs. That's all that matters to me, the rest is just filler.

Maybe as I don't use any form of social media I don't really buy into the whole "rival banter" nonsense. The football world revolves around Tottenham for me with other teams playing each other as filler. Woolwich will win things again, so will Liverpool, Chelsea etc, what's the point worrying about the inevitable.
Then you don't understand the underlying emotions of football mate ,

Mrs P , is a glorious example of a true legacy supporters , loyal , goes rain or shine , and tenacious . A true example. For someone so steadfast to question everything about the club , shows the rot is a cancer .

Unfortunately the road forward will always be a mess , there will be small pieces of joy but nothing will come to fruition. Poch will give some light relief, buy the hericharcy some time but always it will crash and burn.
I think for all our wellbeing it's better to distance ourselves from this perpetual cycle of misery and let the club fill their their stadium of fiscal glory with tourists, Son fans and the half hearted.

Sadly l have felt for many years that this club has nothing of the swashbuckling bravado ethos of yesteryear.

In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said, “Is it good, friend?”
“It is bitter—bitter,” he answered;

“But I like it
“Because it is bitter,
“And because it is my heart.”
