It's just a way of standardising the results to a 38 game 3 pt/1pt season.

E.g The title winning year...

31 wins / 42 x 38 x 3 pts = 84.14
4 draws / 42 x 38 x 1 pt = 3.62
Total points = 87.76

Why not just 31 x 3 = 93 replacing 31 x 2 = 62?

7th best finish in our top flight history:

I'll telling my great grand kids about how Conte robbed us of a title in 16/17, even if he wins us the next three.

Fucking pisstake.

So Thomas what about Woolwich then...

Tuchel obviously did not look at the 4 teams that in this calendar year would be top 4 are Liverpool, Man City, Spurs and Newcastle but not Chelsea or MU. Unless both Chelsea and MU buy well then they may not be there. I think Newcastle are more of a threat than Woolwich.

Like any opposition fans - full of disgust for their corrupting, anti-competitive influence.
cool. I read that some non-PSG managers were supportive, and I was a bit confused. I wouldn't want prime messi in the PL. Don't need the extra asskicking every season.

Good to see sense prevail.

An interesting run of matches coming up :

1.... Sun 26 Feb (H) - Chelsea PL
Wed 1 March (A) - Sheffield United FAC
2.... Sat 4 March (A) - Wolves PL
Wed 8 March (H) - AC Milan (CL)
3..... Sat 11 March (H) - Notts Forest (PL)
4..... Sat 18 March (A) - Southampton (PL)
International Break
5.....Sat 1 April (A) - Everton (PL)
6.....Sat 8 April (H) - Brighton (PL)
7......Sat 15 April (H) - Bournemouth (PL)
8 .....Sat 22 April (A) - Newcastle (PL)
9......Tues 25 April (H) - Manchester United (PL)
10.....Sat 29 April (A) - Liverpool (PL)

There may be other matches dependent on progress in FA Cup (QF 18 March, SF 22 April) and Champions League (QF 11/12 April and 18/19 April)

After Chelsea we have a run of 6 PL matches (until we play Newcastle) all against clubs in bottom half of the table. Vital that we capitalise on that run to get as many possible points as possible.

Over the last 10 seasons the average number of points to achieve 4th place is about 72 points (ie 1.9 ppg)

Currently we have 42 points from 24 games and in the next 7 matches (including Chelsea) so to get on the 1.9 ppg we need to get to 59 points after 31 matches ........ or 17 points from next 7 matches (5 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss). ! Certainly possible but not much room for error.

In May we finish the season with matches against Palace (H), Villa (A), Brentford (H) and Leeds (A)

Opportunity to get to 3rd place - we need to make up at least 7 points in remaining 14 games.

Threats from Clubs currently in 5th place and Below - I see the biggest threat as being Liverpool who have a few players coming back from injury..... currently 7 points behind but 2 games in hand.

But equally Newcastle just 1 point behind but one game in hand cannot be discounted, and a few other clubs in the mix,

We will beat Sheffield it's, score first against Milan but lose 2-1. We will lose against Chavs, Liverpool and Utd. Chavs and Liverpool could be in the championship we would still find a way to lose to those cunts. Probably lose to Newcastle, the rest is on the toss of a coin, if we get out of bed we will get the points if we don't we get nothing and maybe a spanking to boot.

We drew with Chavs earlier this season.
We drew with Liverpool twice last season.
