Manager The Sack Race

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Bruno is arguably their best and most consistent player.

I am convinced that if he left United and got rid of whatever nerf that he gets from being there he'd be the new undisputed best player on the planet.

He is both their best and worst player. Centrally he is light as a feather, treats the ball like a hot potato and gets run around. In the 10 behind the striker he is very creative and unpredictable able to create something out of nothing. Why Amirom is playing him as a CM is mad. You play him as a 10 or don’t play him. He will never be an 8.

Even if they hired someone playing 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 to place Fernandes further up the pitch, it wouldn't work out the way it did a few years back under OGS.

They don't have a McFred anymore to do the hard work behind him so that he can freely play his high-risk-high-reward passes, roam around the pitch without contributing much defensively and so on. His playstyle hardly makes him an easy fit to a given team, but the return more often than not isn't worth it. And this United team certainly doesn't have the surrounding personnel to accommodate him.

Taking his age, captaincy, and massive wages that would make any manager think twice before dropping him into account, he's very much part of the problem for United at the moment.

Isn't that exactly what Mainoo and Ugarte are meant to be?

United don't have a title challenging squad, but they aren't THIS shit.

People who think Bruno are great are those who only look at his G/A stats. I got pelters here for saying it before.
But he can't keep the ball, is a headless chicken in his pressing, stupid Hollywood passes constantly, can't dribble by a man, can't shield the ball.
He's obviously good, but the notion he's world-class or anything similar is laughable.

If you put a man on him all game and don't give him an inch, he's completely ineffective.

And the insisting putting him at CM will cost Amorim his job because of that. And their next 6/7 games are tough.

One of those on very thin ice has signed an extension apparently. What's the point?

Another loss this weekend would see them tie the 5th worst start in PL history with 5 consecutive defeats mind you.

Genuinely think he's a good coach, rescued them from the brink last year, lost some of their best player, hasn't really got backed.
Don't think he's the issue, and it's probably to ensure they get some compo when a bigger team comes a knockin.

Potter and Amorim on the other hand. Lord oh.

They could've waited for a month or so for the decision, as 3 of their next 5 league games are relegation 6 pointers against the newcomers. Could be very decisive.

Some poor results in those would make them look like mugs for giving this extremely premature extension.

Regardless of how much of it is due to him, and I agree that Wolves have been a basket case for quite some time, going back to last season he's currently on a terrible streak of 1 point from last 8 league games and counting. Managers rarely survive this kind of form, let alone get an extension in the midst of it.

I agree, and I think most Rangers would bite your hand off to have Gerrard back.

Granted, a braindead monkey with Parkinson's could do a better job than Russell Martin.
Martin has had moments of success in certain contexts, were I an upwardly mobile Champo side I would have some interest and I can see how Rangers thought their needs were analogous to that.

But, there are also big differences and it just doesn't seem like it's going to work.

He got a Southampton side (barely) promoted that wasn't ready for the PL at all, but at MK Dons & Swansea prior he was average at the very best.

Rangers should have re-hired Gerrard by now tbh

And Wrexham should stick with Phil Parkinson, he's done a remarkable job there.
Yeah they won't sack parky any time soon IMO.

No idea where the rumours have come from, but it seems like they have some clever footballing people there - not some opportunist Brady type benefactor chasing hollywood appointments.

Though I though Mullin was untouchable and they sacked him off quite mercilessly
