Manchester United defender Raphael Varane has reportedly been offered a £50million-a-year reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
The Frenchman, 30, has been far from an assured starter in Erik ten Hag's side during a turbulent third season at Old Trafford.
United rejected the option to extend Varane's contract by a further 12 months and he is free to speak with other clubs ahead of a summer move.

I don't really give a shit about the Saudi League tbh. The most interesting thing in that article is the name "Ian Ladyman".

Must be humbling for footballers to take massive pay increases but be in a country where they are no longer able to go to the fanciest venues and be regarded as the wealthy ones there.

Especially with how insecure most of them are covering themselves in designer labels and tacky jewellery. They can go to a restaurant and some 17 year old wearing a white robe in the corner pisses their net worth. Added to the fact nobody gives a shit about what they do globally anymore, whilst playing in front of empty seats - you would need a Ronaldo sized ego to stomach that one.

She says the experience is amazing. The people are wonderful and welcoming. The place is beautiful. Couldn’t be more complimentary if it were paid for by the Tourism arm of the Government, which it may well be.

Hardly a story of hardship though.
