I think Cherki had a pretty small buy clause as a pay off for agreeing to sign a new contract last summer, otherwise he was going for free this summer I think. It's been a funny scenario, because last summer they couldn't give him away, he'd shown promise and talent but not consistency (hardly surprising for his age) but then last season everything kicked in and he was one of the most productive players in Europe. On the plus side they are getting about 25m more than he was going for last summer, but on the other, if they'd looked after him properly, they'd probably be getting at least 20-30m more this summer.
Perhaps we can hijack Atletico's deal for Lenglet...... Big bwoy flex.
