Only if you're bounded by glitzy signings and don't take into account the where he actually fits in but yeah go ahead and urge the club to waste money I guess...👍
He plays off the left or in a ten. Hopefully Frank isn’t as rigid that he wants both his wide players to just always go down the line and put crosses in. He probably wants good players first. Good players and managers work things out as well. you might get a numerical advantage elsewhere if he drifts in and takes players out of the game, you get a full back on the outside, you get a forward running in the left channel, a deeper midfield run in the space that Eze opens up. Im more worried about how we look after the ball, and Eze is on another level than Kudus.

Didn't they tell us that it's about signing the right "character" and they do character background checks blah blah blah.

Kudus main issue at Spammers is his character and temperament ffs. Did they forget to do these oh so important checks on this occasion?

Sooooooo much shit talking...anything to not spend the right money/right wage on the right player. Settle for the third choice temperamental player.
Yep the club will get the shock of its life when we sign Partey on a free

If Eze goes there, it will be akin to the girl I had a crush on at school subsequently going out with the School bully....

What a waste of talent!!!!

He plays as an inside 10 in a 3-4-2-1 system, he isn't a natural left winger or a natural 10, we already have two 10's in our team

Also Eze on another level to Kudus, behave, the guy had purple patch in his last 3 months at Palace before that you had Palace fans saying that he was lazy and inconsistent, are we saying that a couple of months of good form is all it takes to clear other players or are we just perhaps over reacting a little to recency bias maybe?

RW is where we need an upgrade and cover most, not an inside 10 where we struggle to work out where his best position is in our team and tbh Kudus is more versatile anyway.

If Frank wants good players then he'll have no complaints about Kudus then.

I'd put them on about even. Both great players when they're on form. Kudus has more pace, but less lethal in front of goal.

Kudus is 3 years younger, so a much better prospect for future, which is in line with our strategy, it seems.

Either would take us forward.
Which would be a better wing? Eze arguably is the better player, but he tends to play more centrally. At this point I'd be happy with either one.

Frank hasn’t even seen the squad yet, it’s understandable that we’re moving slowly and cautiously in the transfer market.

I expect once he has some experience with the boys we will be more decisive and sign a couple of good players to compete for starting 11 spots.

Most of what Eze did, in terms of goal scoring, came in the last 7 weeks of the season.

I'm not sure about that.

Eze doesn't fit ENIC's M.O. due to his age.

Eze's value will continually depreciate and his wages will be excessive.

Woolwich have probably had to pay more for Eze, in respect of the fee and wages, due to Spurs 'interest' in the player.

Having a Goon director on our team is probably leading to some political moves with the knowledge of their intentions that he has brought with him.

I doubt we were ever serious about buying Eze.
I get this....we've always admired from afar even when he was at QPR, the price was too rich for us then and so it is now.

In this era of amortisation for nearly £70m Levy has already crunched the numbers showing a £10m p.a. depreciation over 7 years and ending up with a 34 year old duracell bunny with rickets.

Also, buy out clauses being met mean absolutely nothing unless the target concerned is amenable to the move.

But Ange's 2nd season was the worst league season in 90 years at the club. You're trying to use the first season as cover, when we stumbled to 5th - we had a flying start in the first 10 matches and then pretty much cratered.

Ange's last 18 months, EL run aside, were the longest sustained period of league form in the club's history. It is really hard to overstate how utterly shit we have been...because Tottenham has never really been so utterly shit for so long.
We took 59 points from the 38 games between the end of the post-Chelsea 9 man tailspin and the beginning of last season's injury crisis.

Not good form by any means, and a level at which we've sacked a number of managers, but we've been there or thereabouts frequently in recent years. Exactly 59 points in 2019-20.

And THEN the bottom really fell out and we took 19 points from Ange's last 26 league games (17 of the dreaded 22 losses) which he couldn't survive even with a European trophy and all of the excuses, and probably shouldn't have.

That three-part breakdown is a more logical way to look at the Ange era, imho.

Wouldn't have been a ridiculous take after 23/24 season people have really really short memories. Kudus isn’t suddenly less of a player because of 1 bad season at a mess of a club.
But the same token he isn’t that great because of one season where he produced moments(his all round game was the same, selfish and trying to do to much) Wouldn’t be the first time a player gets overhyped by producing moments that people watch on the highlights. West Ham fans were starting to suss him out towards the end of that first year.

Well if he doesn't have a 5th place finish, he won't have a job. Levy has demonstrated that for 2 decades.

I think 2 5th place finishes isn't far off Stumbling 5th+worst season in almost a century+2nd tier European trophy.

Well Levy then is the clouds.

The league the last few seasons is changing. We don’t have 4-5 good clubs, we have 6-7 of them. Liverpool, City, Woolwich, Chelsea are getting joined by Newcastle and Villa who are maxing their PSR each season to build up as their owners are rich.

Top 4-5 will require big investment and probably an increase in the wage structure of the club. If Levy expects Frank or any manager to cheap his way to top 4 he is a fool.

For what it's worth, that 23/24 season was largely just a mirage of outperforming xG (plus some goals against shit Europa League opponents, and as we know from the Brennan Johnson thread, those don't count)

There was not a real difference in underlying quality between the two seasons. A lot of successful dribbles and not a lot of end product.
