WHY are we even discussing other clubs rejects???

No idea if Guehi rumours are true but we did make a pathetic doomed to fail bid on deadline day in January . If true we are competing with Liverpool then it’s another ridiculous we tried moment . Now this might not be the case, but we have plenty of previous making bids that we knew when making them they would fail . The usual tactic was bidding for players with third party ownership , but that has been done to death , so new ways of failing are needed.

I don’t see us buying another CB unless we are planning on selling Romero at the end of the window, which none of us would put past the club.

My man, in terms of "we tried but the other club moved the goalposts", that's a homerun for Levy. I mean, it's perfect as far as he's concerned...club can come out with its usual bullshit of "MGW was Thomas' No 1 pick", "No point signing an alternative not really fancied by the boss", "No point signing someone that's not gonna improve what we've already got" etc etc. And he doesn't spend a penny.

That Forest owner/chairman is an absolute cunt, but let's be honest...so us ours.

Tel, Takai and Kudus come July 22nd, after finishing 17th with 22 losses...that's inexcusable.

This is why Levy can’t recruit a coach like Nagelsmann, or any other like Conte again.

They all saw what happened and they know there will always be an excuse when it comes to bringing in elite talent.

The only coaches Levy can hire now are dudes like Frank who see it as such a massive step up, they will tolerate this kind of behavior

Today we will moan about...

..... other people moaning. . :freund:
Not sure I was even moaning. Bidding for Guehi on deadline day in Jan and negotiations with players with 3rd party ownerships are just posturing and doomed to fail . I was merely pointing this out. If you think about it , I was praising Daniel for getting creative and not insulting us with a blatantly transparent doomed strategy. Instead we seem to be allegedly spinning a going toe to toe with Liverpool narrative😂😂

We clearly have a lot of players we would like to shift and are struggling to do so , I wonder if any blame can be attached to Danny boy for that . Blame the managers , blame the DOF’s , blame the scouts , blame the groundsmen, blame the agents , blame the people selling sausage rolls at the stadium, but never blame Daniel .

One interesting hypothetical angle to this … imagine if MGWs release clause only was activated if Forest did not qualify for the CL or EL, and the day we bid was the day they later got elevated to the EL (due to Palace’s owner issue). Is the release clause active or not?
If that's the case, however, why hasn't something as simple and straightforward as this not come out in the past 10 days? Instead Forest are claiming we approached the player illegally, not that the release clause wasn't valid.

If we're looking at the " NF were promoted to the EL" angle what might make more sense is that they felt they needed a stronger team for it compared to ECL and that's why they pulled back from transfer. They could be thinking it's their best chance for getting into CL (seeing as how we did it) and decided they need their best players to stay. Just a theory.

I'm not really convinced that's how Spurs operate. There is a large scouting network, and they would have been tracking many players for years.

Tel, Danso, Vuskovic, Kudus, Takai and Gibbs-White (hopefully just a formality) improves the squad. Still some glaring gaps, with Spence/Davies not really good enough to play backup to Udogie/Porro.

We don't shop in the market of elite players who are close to their prime, but we do compete with the big teams for young 'up and coming' players. And I'd say that Spurs getting Vuskovic, Bergvall, Tel, Gray, Van De Ven should be regarded as significant in beating off other bigger teams that would have been interested.
Good post, and I agree. I'm guessing one of the reasons we are attractive to young players is because they feel they are likely to get more game time?
What I don't like is the idea of is us possibly being a feeder club for the elite. We need to nurture and keep some of these boys, its the only way imo we are ever going to dine at the top table season after season.
