lol exactly.

We need a 6 and a better creative midfielder: Levy targets Palhinha on a cut price loan deal and then goes for two midfielders with low release clauses (MGW/Millot). It’s perfect!

How is it a 'cut price deal'?

Are you the players agent?

Do you know the cost of the deal?

Did you sign his contract for him?

And even if it was a 'cut price deal' if he plays to his potential then he would be worth it, no?

With a net spend of circa 110m i wonder what's left in Levys wallet this summer?

You can’t understand why 30 year old Palhinha on loan is a cut price option, even despite the wages? I mean this to say, is this a semantics issue, or do you just genuinely not get it?

Cut-price deal is fair here bc he was signed for £55m last summer and Bayern have now literally cut his price in half, including a buy option for half that fee. They’ve clearly been doing everything they can to get rid and the buy option would see them lose £30m in value.

So, yes, this is an opportunistic deal with us getting a ready-now 6, as opposed to the proper quality long term solutions which have been rumoured like Baleba/Wharton. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad deal, but it does mean it’s a cut price deal.

If there’s a season to blow the wad (post Poch) this is it imo.
If we fall further behind then we’re proper fucked.
Liverpool are preparing healthily for life after Salah and co. The northern red losers are reinforcing heavily. We really can’t drift away from the leading cunts.
I’m impressed with the performance yesterday but one swallow doesn’t make a summer and can leave a very bad taste… allegedly.
Let’s build something on the pitch this year rather than worry about the next investment in a game of monopoly in N17.

Some serious rumours coming out that Sesko has chosen Newcastle over Man United which would be funny
Utd surely have to wait and see if they can actually get a fee for one of their players before splashing £70-80m on Sesko, for all the talk of Garnacho, Diallo, Sancho and Mainoo likely being available for the right fee, there hasn't been a sniff at one of their players, getting Rashford's wages (or whatever % of them Barca are covering) alleviates some pressure but still just kicking the can down the road, maybe they have asked Sesko to wait until either the end of the window or next summer and Newcastle are offering too much for him to agree?

The best part of this argument is that, had we signed Wharton, you could have just as easily flip it round and lambast Levy for going for the low wage young unproven player yet again - and many would have done just that.

Are you fucking kidding me. I explicitly stated that Wharton would be the expensive long term solution, and you are now saying that I mean the opposite? Genuinely, how could you possibly take my post that way? Wharton is a premium priced PL player who would cost the moon, only an absolute idiot with zero brain would view him as a cheap option.

Stop making me into a strawman, but if you must make a strawman, at least don’t make a mentally disabled strawman FFS. Give me at least some bare minimum respect.

If he improves us, do we give a fuck what he costs ?
If he doesn’t then we can dream about some random fella from across the oceans that we could have signed instead.
Opportunistic deals that work out are great. Why are people so afraid of that?
It’s spending vast sums on prospects or shit that cost us year on year.
I’m baffled by people suggesting that a bloke with the fiercest tackling stats in the PL for 2 years, who went to one of the biggest clubs in the world suddenly is the cheap option. I don’t like levy or any of his people but I love spurs. And this seems a no brainer deal

There isn't one person of sound mind that would think Wharton, who is a ~£100m player is a young, unproven player.

There's semantics, then there's this. Zero credibility to your argument.

No one is paying £100M, if they were he would be sold.
That's what Palace want. English, homegrown, and a stand out CM in the league last year in his first full season.

He's absolutely a £100 or close. I'm guessing you don't know what '~' means, but it means circa. If you don't think they're getting around that figure, you don't have a clue.

I'll add that next summer he'll be off to City or Liverpool.

I wouldn't be making such sweeping statements based off one season of evidence tbh, I rate Wharton but when Guehi and Eze are gone and he's trying to make a team tick with a shakier defence behind him and a worse midfield in front of him he might not look so much like a £100m player this time next summer.

Still slightly annoyed we never tried to do a deal for Jonathan David, incredibly consistent goalscorer with all the attributes to do well in PL, Juve got him on a very cheap deal when considering they paid something like a 13.5m euro signing on fee and have him on £200k a week, an incredibly cheap deal if he can replicate his Lille form at his next club, really does make me think we are eager to avoid going over around £150k/week unless bonuses are heavily involved and whenever a player has a choice between that and guaranteed money we will always be 2nd fiddle.
