Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

ENIC do not have 300000 to spend which is why John Thomas and followers want a change of ownership. I actually agree they should sell up as we need more money invested and I cannot see a minority investor being happy with Levy still being in control.
"John Thomas" and followers"

You mean like 84% of the vote on here and pretty much similar on any other poll taken in the last 12 months across social media lol.

Don't you also want a change of ownership?

Anyway. Who's John Thomas?

We need to cut the poor bloke loose to pursue his own career now. He doesn’t seem to have done enough here to get a proper chance. Never looks any worse than our other attackers when he comes on or plays, maybe there’s an issue in training because he doesn’t ever look that bad.
A proper chance in the Premier League ... let's look at that.

2020-21 he played 1 minute.
2021-22 he played 3 minutes.
2023-24 he played 19 minutes spread over 4 games.
2024-25 he played 30 minutes. He got half of those when we were already 4-1 up against Ipswich and playing out time. Otherwise he came on at the end of a defeat against Fulham and at the end when we were 2-0 up against Brentford.

Meanwhile he was scoring 11 goals in 11 games for England U20 and U21. Could it be, just maybe, that he's not the problem?

When was the last time we went into the season feeling so hopeless .... I think you have to go back to pre Redknapp days in 2007 for the total lack of optimism going into a new season.

I noticed a few posts on this thread have been removed, I went to find them on Clutter, but Clutter seems to have vanished?
Yeah. I think when posts get removed now that's it. Gone.

I noticed there's a poster called 'Daniel Levy' in the sin bin. (Honestly..he's in there with Goat😁)
I wanted to see what he'd posted that got him sent off but couldn't find it.

Why EPL specifically?

As is typcal; you earn those EPL minutes in the lesser comps.

22 apps / 416 mins / 1 G / 3 asst

His size is a huge advantage for an ST at that level..... It's men's football now.

Making room for the half-dozen or so top players we are about to sign.

Youre the one who has these overt emotions to things mate. I think calling me sensitive when you are going on like this is somewhat hilarious.
I am pissed off/disgusted/appalled whatever. It’s how I feel and as this is a transfer thread I will express how I feel. As you say we express how we feel the way we choose to. Football is an emotional game for most supporters.
I called you sensitive because of the way you reacted to me saying I was disgusted with the inaction and ineptitude of the board. If you want to bottle it up / gloss over go ahead. If you’re able to stay calm about it then congratulations on your steps towards enlightenment. However, let me ask you this, if you’re a spurs fan, surely the way this TW has gone must be upsetting/annoying you?

We should have been focusing on his development as a priority when he came out of the U18s with a record of better than a goal a game. It will be interesting to see how we fuck up Williams-Barnett and then who comes on here to say it was all the fault of the player.

The thing is, even in the 90's , you know..that period that the hardline Levy enthusiasts like to remind us of, we would sign a top tier player every now and then to get the juices flowing.
We may have been shit for a while, but at least we was shit with a bit of glamour and glitz thrown in. (We never finished 4th bottom with a record number of losses either)
I vividly remember the excitement when we signed Klinsmann. Can you imagine Daniel Levy signing Jurgen Klinsmann?

That’s the thing. Levy and his cronies have gaslit the fanbase into not even expecting us to be in the conversation when top players come on the market. He’s made us feel so small.

I haven't mentioned "fault".

Dane has had a combo of time with the senior team and loans:

Lg 1: 34 apps / 4 G
Chmp: 32 apps / 4 G
THFC (all comps): 22 apps / 1 G

It sucks how little time he got here in the 2nd half of last season, but more broadly what would have been YOUR roadmap for him? (...And by that question, I'm assuming you have something a little more strategic in mind than "Give him 20mins every weekend and let him sink or swim").

There's been no hint of him ripping up the EPL at any point in his senior career so far.

Why do you always bring this up as a gotcha?

What did Klinsmann win with us?

You go on and on about how fans are just content with whatever bone Daniel throws at us and how dumb they are and then hark back to a situation where 'we may have been shit...but shit with glitz and glamour'.

So do you want to win things or just have the odd marquee signing as long as we don't finish as low as 17th again...?

I mean, I really try not to get upset about things so completely out of my control.

Sure its a bit annoying but I find the whole transfer stuff tiresome and a tool used by the media to make money and fill up the space left by there not being much football to actually talk about.

Ever summer. Every Jan, watching football fans working themselves up into a frenzy over how much money clubs are spending, how much wages are being spent.... etc etc etc.... its honestly a bit insane.

I enjoy the football side of the football. Im looking forward very very much to seeing us play next week and watching the team we have, whoever they are, progress under a new manager.
