We don't know after 2 games if we have hired the right manager. Way too premature to even suggest that, but it is an utter disgrace to be a club our size and, to be so ill-preoared for a summer tramsfer window, operating as though we did not know summer was coming.

Big clubs wouldn't even think twice about doing that. That's the point. £52m represents good value for money in this market.
We know that VDV's style of play makes injury likely. The way I see it is we'd be playing £52m for a starting centre back for half the season, a quality centre back when we play 3 at the back, much needed cover/rotation at LB.
