Yes that would be the most likely scenario with Levy. Hence why I think it would be a massive set back to lose Romero.

You can be sure one of Danso and VDV will get injured for 3 months next season and we're straight back to Dragusin/Davies or ever Gray filling in every game.
Thing is, we can't continue being all these potentially good players and not give them an opportunity.

If say we sell Romero and replace him with Guehi then when will Vuskovic or Phlllip realistically get their chance? in 3 years time when we sell Danso? but then we decide we need another CB to replace him and the cycle continues.

Btw Dragusin isn't a bum. He's actually a good centre back that can't really play in an Ange highline but will probably look solid in any other system.

I hear what your saying because I've similar concerns over us signing someone like Sane on top of Tel because we are just kicking Moore further down the pecking order.

Guess I just have PTSD with the centre back positions because we've somehow managed to have our 2 main centre backs injured at the same time for a 3 month period 2 seasons in a row!

Why is Geuhi a replacement for Romero? Should buy him anyway and have a strong squad

We've currently got Romero, VdV, Dragusin, Danso, and will have Vuskovic, Phillips, and Dorrington returning from loan.

Unless we get a guy coming in to play a back three, we'll have to thin the herd somehow in order to actually get the younger players some game time. So I think we could easily consider Guehi a replacement as a starter, with Danso rotating in. Would have to see Dragusin under another manager to be convinced he's worth keeping here, as he looks no more effective than his counterpart Chiriches so far

I would absolutely cash in on Son this window if there’s anything to those Saudi rumours. Absolute legend, great way to bow out by winning the cup. Moving on Son and Werner would free up our wage bill significantly and if we play this right with UCL football and wages available we could attract some absolute top talent.

Moving on Werner doesn't do anything for us wage wise because it's a short term loan in which his sslary would have been accounted for.

Most of those players have never kicked a ball for the club, only 3 of them have proven any sort of worth in the premier league.

We finished 17th, a place above relegation. The manager whinged about injuries for half the season.

Its a squad game.

That's why there's currently 4 players in front of them. But they're never going to 'kick a ball' until they do.

Wasn't this argument proved to be redundant when Kane was kept as third choice striker for the season by AVB?

I’d imagine Vuskovic will be going on a few more loans before starting for us. Can see Phillips and Dorrington going out again to a higher level too.

Wingbacks playing fullback. Strong CB depth. Lack of midfield quality.

Won't be popular, but switching to a back 3/5 would solve a lot of squad problems.

Exactly. Its a funny game where its impossible to please fans really around these windows. My opinion is for any player we buy, we should be selling one just not to be blocking the way for our academy lads. Example Bissouma and Richarlison should be sold if we sign a CDM and a forward. Ben Davies should go if we sign another centre back.

Kane is the best example. I'm guessing the club showed "no ambition" that Summer by not signing a forward to start ahead of Soldado and Adebayor.
