Depends on what position it's for.
Harsh on Bentancur I think, you're right he's not elite, but he's nowhere near a liability either. Under a competent coach, in a proper system, he'll be perfectly serviceable.Extending Bentancur's contract = wrong. Guy is a liability, not an elite player...and let's be honest, he's a right dickhead.
Offering Micky a juicy new deal = wrong. The best ability is availability. Take his pace away and he's nothing special. Guy is a giant, can't even head the ball.
Multiplying Bergvall's wages by 5 ot 6 = wrong. Sure I love the kid and he's been great, but putting him on 85k pw already, that's daft. Give him 45k, it's already a big rise. Kid is 19 and he's not even got a full season under his belt.
Signing Tel for 50 mil = wrong.
But Levy.
Yes, he's a liability in my books. He can't stay fit a whole season (though he's done better on that front this year), his discipline on & off the pitch is questionable (to put it mildly). Play him vs a decent MF duo or trio and he's getting bummed. Definitely not our worst player and sure, under a better coach and with better teammates round him he'd likely improve, but I still think he's not at the level. No way he'd start for City, Woolwich, Liverpool...but they're serious clubs and we aren't. If we were, he's a bench player.Harsh on Bentancur I think, you're right he's not elite, but he's nowhere near a liability either. 100% re Bergvall.Correct on new deals for VDV/Bergval. Rewarding them too early on the back of some media hype, both have some nice moments, but ultimately have produced fuck all of real value in terms of the big picture. I can see the point to rewarding them, but it should be by smaller increments.
Sure re first part. But tell you what, I'll trust Bayern's judgment. They know a thing or two about top players, even young ones. If they're happy to let him go, maybe that tells us something. He's done alright here, but no way we should spend 50 mil on him. But then again we spent 65 in Dom, 60 on Richy, 50 on Brennan, 40 on Mads, 40 on Archie, 35 on Biss, 30 on Odobert...Tel, impossible to judge anyone accurately under an idiot manager. There's a risk that we sign him for £50m and it's a total catastrophe, but there's an equal risk that we pass up the opportunity and he goes on to be a star elsewhere.
I've seen plenty of games where I didn't even realise Bentancur was playing. Since his injury, he's largely been a passenger and had little or no positive impact on games.Harsh on Bentancur I think, you're right he's not elite, but he's nowhere near a liability either. The standard that some people have for what type of players that we are meant to get is just odd.people already have Danso on their sell list despite being good looooooool.
9 out of 10 window
Is he a good centre back in the premier league?that’s questionable, he looks uncomfortable on the ball to me. Put it this way when he’s in possession are people relaxed. I’m not and when hes passing into midfield I’m not confident he’s going to find his man or weight it properly if he does. Is he that dominant defensively to bridge that gap, not so far.The standard that some people have for what type of players that we are meant to get is just odd.
Is Danso a top of the line, world class CB? No. Is he a good CB? Yes.
We don't shop in the top of the line aisle apart from the odd Rafa van der Vart gamble. But we can still get good professional footballers in the side.
I agree. If you add up all those £15m-£30m buys, we have spent a lot and yet we don't have any depth in the squad, to being in quality when there are injuries. It's like there's no strategy to our buys, we just get who will come.Is he a good centre back in the premier league?that’s questionable, he looks uncomfortable on the ball to me. Could understand a loan but what was it £30m? another bad panic buy imo.
And Ben Davies
Fuck off... a few good games in a very good villa team is basically window shopping himself. 300k a week not a chance. I wouldn't even take him on loan even if United paid half his wages.Been reading we're after Rashford.

Maybe it's who Southgate has told Levy he wants.Fuck off... a few good games in a very good villa team is basically window shopping himself. 300k a week not a chance. I wouldn't even take him on loan even if United paid half his wages.
