Whatever the result on Wednesday, and as much as I know the summer transfer window is important, I am dipping out until August.

We will need some rabbits to be pulled out of hats and to have the right manager in place to bring our the very best of whatever resources they are given.

There are 3 or 4 critical areas that absolutely need to be filled, but......

Not a window I am looking forward to.

Did I say he was such a poor keeper?

But I'll say this...your exceptional shot stopper has conceded nearly 100 goals in 2 seasons. Oh and Robinson, Gomes, Big Brad used to make incredible saves too...still didn't make them creme de la creme goalies. Vicario is nowhere near Hugo's level...ooh that one gonna sting you & your darlings (the Jap puzzle & the Brazilian bus driver).
 
Was it Gabbanini that was rumoured to be highly rated, and apparently had a good eye for deals that people were bummed out about when it turned out he was leaving from being pushed out by us bringing in Lange, as apparently he had somewhat figured that he would be given a bit more space to work and responsibility which then went to ol’ Johann?
 
Look at how Liverpool move. Champions. Season hasnt even finished. Top RB wrapped up (Frimpong) and top left back target (Kerkez) almost signed. Then an ambitious punt for one of the best young attacking midfielder in Europe (Wirtz).

Thats why they are champions and its why we are where we are.

Yes the Europa league would be nice for the fans. But the reality is, all it does is paper over the cracks of a dysfunctional club.

He was essentially in charge the window when we bought Vicario, Maddison, VDV, Johnson and (ahem) Veliz…

Vicario is a much better keeper than the 3 you mentioned and better than Hugo in his final few seasons with us.

Really isn’t going to “sting” me is it that Vic isn’t as good as our best keeper for arguably decades was in his prime. The fact he berated your favourite blue eyed boy a couple times seems to have stung you though :vicarioconfused:
 
I would take Brad Friedel any day over Googly Vicario. Robinson was tremendous for us for a few seasons. Neither spent half their first season getting repeatedly bullied at corners.

Yeah I agree the set piece/crossing flappiness is horrible and he’s far from a perfect keeper. Still a better keeper than those two in my opinion, Vic has to do far more all round these days than those boys ever had to.

They aren’t being Italian no.2 behind donarumma in their time if eligible either.

I won’t throw my toys out the pram however because everyone doesn’t have the same opinion :nunothumb:
