I was thinking the same, not a bad bench option to have on a 1 year deal if nothing else happens in terms of striker signing ! Vardy can have a Solanke level output even at current age and his sheer experience will be invaluable in CL
A serious club that genuinely wants to compete on all fronts doesn't have Solanke and a 138yo Vardy as their striker options. They have a beast No 9, then Solanke as his backup and Vardy + a promising kid as emergency cover.

Meh.

10 goals & 6 assists season just gone...but only played 27 games, of which 23 were starts. Rarely plays the full 90, not got the juice.

9 goals & 3 assists the season before that (played 31, started 19), so it ain't like he's progressing big time year on year.

Injury-prone and his attitude/discipline ain't great.

West Ham can have him.

If he's our replacement for Richarlison then I think it's fine. He's got guts and puts himself about, we need to get back to the Poch era of players who are horrible to play against. Not nice soft boys like Brennan and Odobert.

Richie had similar numbers before move we ain't getting gyokeres or an osimhen sadly

Did we ever consider Edin Terzic as manager. The guys a free agent and has actually won something, not to mention a second place in the Bundasliga and making a champions league final.
Surely they interviewed him? Huh?
There’s a focus on managers in the epl but they’ve never won anything or made a final.

We need about 6-7 signings this summer, a left back was one of them. Now the club has depth in 2 positions it needed depth in for no real outlay.

I understand why they did it but only accept it as a decision if the money saved goes towards the other 5-6 areas we desperately need quality in.
I agree if they go and sign a better LCB/LB but this extension worries me that the club won't feel it necessary and will only do it if they can find a bargain rather than being ambitious and signing someone who can actually challenge VDV/Udogie and offer proper squad depth. The drop off to Davies is massive and we'll end up playing him 10-20 times next season unless we sign another one!

He's a very good player. I said last week I don't get why we're not trying to sign him so hopefully this is true.

Woolwich let Tierney go for free and he's still a better player then Davies. If you know they aren't good enough then why keep them as back up because once you've a few injuries then that's why your left with to play every week. Results and performances drop off then. We saw this all last year. We needed to upgrade on some of our back up players.

This season showed that you can't get away with having the likes of Forster, Davies, Werner and Lankshear as your back up because once a few injuries come you are literally down to the bare bones.

Sometimes a players value to the group goes further than how well they can kick a ball.
Ben will be a vital go between from manager, coaches and players.
I don't expect him to play much at all but he will still have alot to give with a coaching change and getting messages across being the model pro he is.

Now I defo hope we sign him so that this cunt has another whinge.

Are you agreeing with him though? Doesn't sound like it - you've only named success stories, I think his point is that you don't know until they are in the prem, as there are as many, if not more, failures than success stories - for every Wharton there is a Scott (and probably far more Scotts than Whartons). It's too easy too just focus on the successes - you've got to be lucky enough to get one...

(Apologies if I've misunderstood either of you).
Is Scott a failure?

IIRC, he had back to back injuries, with at least one of them being serious, ACL?
