Still seeing VDV to Liverpool chatter.

Surely we wouldn't be so stupid to sell him in this window? That would be suicide given our current situation. Sounds like he might be agitating for the move though.

He is starting to wind me up a bit to be honest.

Does it actually though?

I haven't seen anything of the sort, beyond assumptions from fans based on whatever mysterious signs they're looking for, what has he actually said/done to indicate this?

Incredible how injuries have ravaged us.

Vicario
Porro - Romero - Van de Ven - Udogie
Gray - Bergval
Kudus - Maddison - Xavi
Solanke

Kinsky, Spence, Danso, Sarr, Gallagher, Kulusevski, Odebert, Tel

That's a good squad. Still in need of some work, but a lot better than given credit for. A top LW and ST needed still, and a better GK.

I hope we are making plans to cover his sale in the summer.

I think he is a problem within the squad and whether that relates directly to a lack of respect for Frank or that he believes he can do better for himself is unclear.

Van De Ven won't be sold this window. Zero chance.

"Well Thomas, two top players in in key areas of the squad, you must be happy with that window"

Let's see but it's pretty shocking so far, and amazingly complacent.

The only rider, always trying to offer a bit of balance is that very few teams have done much business as yet.
I don't think you can totally discount the fact that a lot of the gaps in the squad right now are caused by injury.

Those players aren't dead, they will be back eventually, so you can't just sign someone every time one of the squad gets biffed.

Things like leftback, absolutely needed to be addressed as even with everyone fully fit there was a shortfall there.

Right wing, more difficult to say depending on how you view Kulusevski but arguably with a fully fit squad you could say we have him and Kudus.

For the 10 role we have Xavi, Maddison, and again arguably Kulusevski. So should the club really go out and lump £40/50/60m on someone to plug a temporary gap there? Then we're left eventually with a bloated squad that we're unable to shift "deadwood" from, and everyone hates that. Or do we sign a short term cover, who'd more than likely be severely underwhelming and leave everyone scratching their heads?

No business, no Europe, no Richarlison, Spurs 26-27:

ST: Solanke, Tel
RW: Kudus, Kulusevski, Odobert*
LW: Odobert, Tel*, Simons*, Maddison*
CAM: Maddison, Simons, Kulusevski*
CM: Gallagher, Bergvall, Sarr, Gray
CDM: Bentancur, Gray*
RB: Porro, Spence
LB: Udogie, Souza
RCB: Romero, Danso
LCB: Van de Ven, Dragusin
GK: Vicario, Kinsky

*Backup position
Bench: Scarlett, Moore, Donely, Devine, Vuskovic

In: nobody
Out: Richarlison (+10m)

You are probably correct. Just a gut feeling I suppose.
Pessimism is a perfectly valid approach to supporting Spurs, I totally understand, but it's important sometimes to check yourself and distinguish between your assumptions and reality.

It was a genuine question though not a statement, he may well have released a statement saying how much he detests the Chicken badge, and can't stand the taste of Chick King, that I missed.

Acknowledge all that.

Barest minimum in my opinion is however a forward, but yes, your point is of course valid.

He's got three years left, no way we sell him l, particularly with the pressure the board is already under.

This is a non story, the media doing the tapping up on behalf of Liverpool as they love to do.

I don't think there is much chance he is sold in the summer either. He's got a long time left in his contract. He's arguably the best player at the club. If the board sells him that says everything in terms of their long term ambition.
If he has a year left or something they could justify it.
I don't see it happening. Would be madness.

I'm not so sure.

The squad need unity, but also to be united behind whoever the manager is.

Shows of disrespect can permeate but they also demonstrate a certain lack of contentment in my opinion.

Hard to decode and to decide what the club are doing at present, so I don't think anything can be ruled in or out.

Ambitious young man, can't fault him. He has the ability to play for Madrid.

We have too many players who are comfortable and happy being lower mid table. Lovely London pad, gorgeous training facilities and wages

SSN reporting last night that the club want to open a contract discussion to reward his efforts and (of course) extend his contract.

I’d be massively surprised though if he isn’t looking, at least, at the possibility of a move in the summer. He must feel the club and squad have declined from last season and that’s no mean feat.

To be honest, I’ve been a little irritated by some of his attitude displays but I wouldn’t blame him wanting to leave, as much as it hurts to say it.
