This board are stupid but I don't think they'd be dumb enough to sell VdV especially to a rival.

We have the leverage , he's only on £50k a week anyway, he's not going to go the next few years on the same wage especially if his stock is rising.

Up to these bozos to sort the football infrastructure out in that time and get a competent manager and players who better the squad.

No one said let's just sell him, he's just ambitious because he's good. Same as Kane, same as bale, same as modric, same as berbatov
Good players want to play at the top and not for mid table teams

No need to get some agitated and upset, just the way it is :ledley:

When players are actually as god as some of their fans believe, clubs can make serious bids, which provide the proof of excellence.

Until then, a player can talk ambition all day long, as can fans.

What I do believe however is that a player who shows a lack of respect for their manager, former and current, can destabilise a squad, especially a player who is considered one of its leaders.

Both VDV and Romero have shown a lack of respect for this manager, one could argue that they are our only real leaders in the squad which tells you more about the manager than the actual players.

Didn't see a lack of respect for the manager in the last couple of seasons mind you so there's that...

Allegedly saying to the manager, unrefuted to my knowledge, and then revealing to all and sundry, that we needed to change how we played in the Europa wasn't a lack of respect?

I think Van De Ven is a good player. Obvious.

I think he is also more arrogant than his ability warrants, and that whether it's down to his, and Romero's views on Frank or not, it's not the best example and not what we need.

In the summer I think either he or Romero will leave if Frank is still here, and even with a change of manager that might still be the case.

For Micky to be sold within the next year or so it is going to be down to him to kick up enough of a fuzz.
It does feel like he might be winding up to agitating for a move.

The Overlap interview, the rumours around he’s not happy, the Liverpool interest etc.

I think the manager situation could obviously heavily influence what happens in the summer, although I do wonder if he generally thinks he’s above us.

If he goes it needs to be on our terms and any team rinsed for a very large fee.

No watch the interview with Gary Neville and have a look at how he spoke about him, nothing allegedly about that and I didn't see any visual lack of respect towards him either.

The lack of leadership on the pitch is amplified by the lack of leadership off it, two of our most experienced players including Palhinha against Villa are lashing out shows you how broken the club is and this manager isn't the man to put things right on the pitch.

Don’t you think that real leaders would avoid showing a lack of respect for the manager though?

They may think Frank is useless but showing your disdain for him in front of the rest of the squad doesn’t promote the unity required to succeed.

Surely the best thing they could do is keep quiet, show respect, raise their game and encourage other players to do the same?

Doing anything else smacks of lack of maturity and the necessary skills to lead.

Pretty much all the senior players have lashed out one way or another, if not at him then on the pitch - these players are frustrated because they know they are playing for a manager who is inept and playing for a club who are pretty much going backwards.

People can talk about 'real leaders' all they want but if you know someone isn't up to it you're going to show your frustration one way or another, that's just how some players cope. I'd rather players show some sort of emotion and show that they want the situation to change for the better as opposed to not giving a shit then do the humble act and carry on like pussies only to then collect their cheque and go home.

Our fans can see how inept our club is right now and having meltdowns so I don't know why people expect the players to keep quiet, they're feeling it just like us.

[David Ornstein] 🚨 EXCL: Tottenham Hotspur working on deal to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool. #THFC brought forward plan to vie for 31yo #LFC left-back as free agent this summer; not done but talks between all parties advancing in bid to reach agreement @TheAthleticFC

Hermansen, Summerville, now Robertson. We're really doing everything we can to establish ourselves as a mid table club (or even worse) by the sound of things. Please get rid of Lange before he ruins this team even more.
