All those are not our problems to worry. This club is in the top 10 richest club. We are one of the best run clubs in terms of debts and revenue. And our wages are peanuts. We are long overdue on spending on players.
Exactly. And proper quality will work whatever. Son was bought for Poch but shone for all his successors through varying styles. Kane wasn't bought but again was elite for different managers and styles.

The lifespan of a manager these days is like 18 months, the idea of buying players for a specific manager are gone. Quality shines through.

That's not correct.

It depends on the manager and the club set-up.

I doubt City or Liverpool or that lot simply buy as opposed to target.

Our current cycle might mean we look for quality, irrespective of the manager, maybe because our situation is less defined.

Loads of people turned their noses up at the suggestion of Grealish in the summer and he has been fantastic for Everton. Is Paqueta in a similar camp? Sometimes experience makes the difference

All the people whinging won’t want to admit it but there’s a reason Man City were very keen on signing him 18 months ago. He is a class player when motivated and if he’s keen to join us why would that not be the case?

Surely there's a young English/British left back out there, one with plenty upside but already experienced in the EFL. Might not even cost us 8 mil, no 3rd party ownership crap, no language barrier etc.

Really winds me up how we always look abroad first.
Yeah we really over complicate this recruitment business.

Almost worst of both worlds.
Pretend to be elite but dont pay the money for elite players so need to take punts on foreigners which may come good in 3 years.
Can't even do straightforward deals for Prem ready upgrades. End up getting our pants pulled down and paying at the top end for flops which dont improve us (Johnson, Richy, Solanke).
Have completely lost the ability to pick up the next big British players at an early stage which we used to do very well. Instead we now pay 40m for Gray when Wharton was there for 25.

Just a failure across the board.

I lost faith in Simons after 4 matches !!

This if we wad signing him from city cause he wanted game time same as Savinho people wouldn't bat an eye lid.

He's obviously downed tools same as 80% of that west ham team but that doesn't mean he's not a good player.

I'd rather have him passing through the lines then archive gray as CAM who we have atm

Grealish is afar better player than Paqueta, and rarely if ever goes missing. Been a very good signing for Everton and kept himself fit and out of the headlines. Impressive.

He didn't want to come south, so that's less on us.
