Jewish people singing the thing they love most about being a yid.
This is from 2 prominent Jewish fans and i think they speak quite eloquently about this.
I thought the Y word was Lewis’s YachtIs The Y word not “Y have we only won one trophy in 20 years?”

I also found the 'cultural appropriation' thing a bit creepy. How has that become a thing said seriously in public debate? What stands out to me here is the club statement using twice the phrase '...irrespective of context...' That expression scares me - how can we really take seriously the views of anyone who wants to judge the use of any words 'irrespective of context'? How can that even make sense? How can the phrase 'irrespective of context' even be useful anywhere ever? Isn't it basically saying 'ignoring all other relevant useful information about the scenario?' - why would you ever do that in any situation? Surely context can only possibly add to understanding? Scary times we live in.![]()
Baddiel getting a lot of 'column inches' as they say, funny that he has a new book out.
Bloke's a cunt IMO.
And that’s the point isn’t it? We could be stopped from using the word in any form (chant, song etc) and yet truly disgusting songs and chants about concentration camps and the holocaust will go unchallengedOn the home from the Leeds game a few weeks back, me and my son, his mate and his dad passed a group of Leeds fans, one of whom sang ‘Spurs are on their way to Belsen!’. We were not singing anything to do with Yids. So they were ‘provoked’ purely by our scarves!
The notion that We are to blame for provoking those sensitive little fellows from Leeds, Chelsea and Spam into anti Semitic utterances is actually dangerous, like a woman being blamed for sexual assault because she wore a shirt skirt.
But let’s not get distracted - the club aren’t motivated by the moral or even practical questions - it’s all about sanitising the Spurs brand. If they win, we’ll be left with nothing.
I saw that too; it means they will ignore all evidence that undermines their objective. Ironically, it’s a pretty fascistic thing to do.What stands out to me here is the club statement using twice the phrase '...irrespective of context...' Frankly the club can fuck off.
Good luck drawing in newfanscustomers to watch the shit Levy is prepared to pay for, and at premium prices.

Baddiel get lambasted by us because he engages in subterfuge, as pointed out in a post earlier on. It’s not productive to slag him off, but cathartic.Focusing on Baddiel (and his role) is pointless. It’s not productive and a distraction.
The Jewish Leadership Council basically take the same position as he does.
Presumably, they don’t all support Chelsea or have a book to flog.
That's the point in a nut shell - it's all about narrative and the fact that the media dont seem to want to call out antisemitism Bourne from the mouths of knuckle dragging fans of Chelsea, West ham and others. Yet spurs fans turning the Y word from a supposed racial slur to a positive collective response is somehow wrong and needs to be stopped. The sheer stupidity of this and the lack of common sense ....words fail meAnd that’s the point isn’t it? He blocked me on twitter when i told him that if he didn’t like raw fish he shouldnt order sushi and if he didn’t like antisemitism at football, he shouldn’t support Chelsea.
