Ex-Spurs Player Tim Sherwood

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I am dissapointed we have regressed back to this nonsense of 4-4-2 gung ho football. Maybe AVB wasn't the guy to build a squad but we need to build something over 2-3 YEARS.Enough selling players,we need a unit of players to learn to play together.

We need a manager who can balance the long term and short term. Balance defensive and attacking football. Drill the squad tactically and play nice fluid football. What's sherwood's plan and philosophy?. I am sure he can pick up points against stoke and west brom, but what happens in March 2014 when all the big games come up.Does he have the intelligence and experience to go toe to toe with Mourinho,Wenger..ect.Will these tactics work against Suarez,Aguerro,RVP,Rooney,Lukaku?. I don't think so. We need an experienced manager .
Agree! Watching the first half against Southampton, I thought, all there is to this bloke, is a bit of Dunkirk spirit and the, they don't like it up em attitude/style of play. But listening to him after the game he said he was not happy with the first half performance and thought the side were poor! Told them so at half-time and we saw a slightly more measured Spurs! On that basis, I,ll give him the 5 months Levy has and hope he proves worthy of a 3-4 year deal at the end of it!

COYS!!

Very unhappy with the contract length. Would have been fine until the end of the season. That being said, he has my support, but I'm not happy. We need someone of vastly more experience in the Summer.

Did they land the plane ok?

:avbshock:

Bottom line: I'm sure Sherwood wouldn't sign a six month contract, and this means we couldn't get anyone else of sufficient quality in right now. Anyway there's nothing stopping us sacking him in the summer. Or giving him an extension. This approach makes sense in light of limited options.

well, 18 months. i suppose there is some sense in this.
if it works, great.
if it goes badly he can always be sacked at the end of the season and replaced with someone from after the world cup (accept some of the best may have already agreed deals elsewhere by then...)
if it goes ok, but not great, then he gets a full season in charge to prove himself properly. I guess that is ok, but i hope it is one of the other two scenarios as they are better, probably, for our club.

Well, he has my support. I was encouraged the other day but of course we have only seen two games so it is very hard to tell what we are actually getting. Lets hope Levy has got it right. i suppose this is the only manager in scenario that he hasnt quite done before.
