Player Timo Werner

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We know he can't finish but his refusal to run at Godfrey was the worst part of his performance.

Played within himself all game.

Get it, knock it down the line and run and cutback - that's all you need to do Timo.

I like him. Think he’s going to be very useful for us. Still not really match sharp but showing glimpses of the potential that a few more months under Ange could produce. The whole team is still a work in progress and feel like he has the skill and desire to be an important part of our squad going forward.

I think he's doing well but probably not much more than a temporary fix. We badly need another goal scoring wide player. Johnson only scores from a yard, Solomon who knows, Kulu has gone cold, and Son in the twilight soon.

I wouldn’t keep him if I’m honest. Yeh, he’s quick and will create a few goals with that pace. But he can’t finish and he’s very erratic. He’ll be a bench warmer and back up for Son at best.

I think we can set our sights higher than him.

I think he'll be an good super sub type of player, especially when we need a bit of pace if we qualify for CL next season and have to play 2x a week

He can be sort of our Lucas Moura replacement

I know many people thought Lucas was shit but he was a critical part of our team and played an important role for us for many seasons with his electric pace and dribbling

We talking about the one on MOTD where he did I nice dribble into the box and shot?

If so; the it came off the defender's and went wide; it was otherwise on target.
I can’t remember at this point, but it was offside as previously pointed out. As I said before he has attributes that have helped us so far (pace, willingness to make runs, a few assists, great pressing) but very unconvincing when in front of goal. Maybe his finishing improves with confidence but right now it’s disappointing.

Also think people are being quite harsh, but I assume it's because we were losing and we didn't play particularly well in the first half.

He was quite easily one of, if not our best player in the first half. Certainly our best attacking player.

I imagine with Son back he'll go back to the bench now but he's certainly come in and done a job. Had a hand in three goals in five starts, can't complain too much with that output for a loan player. Hopefully he can continue to produce when given chances.

Yeah looks that way but he might still find form. Thought he did OK yesterday but someone like Mittouma or Nico Williams is the level

Yeah…. His pace and running could have an impact off the bench too so even if not starting, he can have a role

He was shit

Werner is a far more measured player, more of a consistent team role / impact than that erratic Brazilian chancer

Agree on super sub
