sammyspurs sammyspurs what makes you assume I know nothing about the medical profession or physiotherapy?

Also we're talking about football physios in particular. Using the exact same knowledge of football you claim to have, any idiot who's paying attention can see that simple knocks are turning into long term layoffs and injuries spreading around the body.

Yes some is pure luck but I can't think of any of the other sides around is who have had to shift their starting 11s about so often. Even the previous manager subtly mentioned his frustrations.

Either we aren't giving them the correct regimes or we aren't spotting potential issues in the Medicaid before they sign. Or they are spotting them but someone at the club is choosing to ignore them.

Either way, it's an issue involving the back room staff.

I can only speculate on what I see and I see a fuck load of injuries being picked up in training or in the aftermath of games during the cool down period.

Because I think you would be too embarrassed to make such degrading statements about a group of people who saved a mans life on our pitch.

At least Id hope so
That is their job. Does that mean we're not allowed to question the fact our players are permanently crocked?

I respect them a huge amount for that, doesn't make them exempt from criticism for the rest of their work.

I'm insulted that you would think I was trying to belittle their efforts that day to be honest

Well you want them fired for supposedly being shit at their jobs....and Id like to know what that criticism is based on, other than your hunch that these injuries are all being treated wrongly.

Thats out of order. Why would you jump to that? A heart specialist from the crowd and both teams doctors/physios helped.

He has a very good point about the general quality of our physios and team doc. It went downhill since Liverpool headhunted Zaf. I remember VDV was in pain on the ground with an injured arm/shoulder...Physio Geoff Scott HELPED HIM UP WITH THE INJURED ARM.

Keystone cops...

ok contrary mary. I think I already said what my criticism was based on and admitted it was a hunch. But I do happen to know a bit more about physio and sports injuries than you think.

Anyone know if any of our boys picked up any knocks on duty tonight? Praying for a clean a bill of health as possible for this. :avbpray:

I think he was perhaps making a widespread statement anyway. Physios should all know basic first aid training as a minimum, but regardless, what happened with Muamba (sp?) that day was not related to Physiotherapy, but core medical skills surely?

An example I often refer to is that I'm trained in battlefield casualty first aid from the army, but I don't know jiff all about the recovery position and allergic reactions or other basic stuff. You learn how to save a life over a limb - different skill sets. Similarly, unless he believes that the medical team conducted a medical on the pitch that day, what you said is completely unrelated to their skillset or efforts that day.

I would agree that we have a lot of issues with injury, the board must be befuddled considering we must have one of the best medical and training facilities in Europe these days?

We seem pretty shit out of luck. Looks like Walker has still about one more week to be fully fit, and Rose is expected to miss both of the Chelsea and ArseAnal games.

Not sure how I feel about the chances of our replacements, especially when I read that we have conceded 3.6 goals per game when Naughton has featured. We are going to need a Timmy masterstroke or the best performances ever of Naughton and Fryers if we are looking to take something away.

Where did you see that Naughton stat? It must have been a windup. I just looked up this season and he's started 19 games and we've only conceded 18 times when he's started.

I don't think he is good and it doesn't change the fact we're in trouble but that stat is just ridiculous. We've only given up more than three goals four times in the last two years and the only games of those he started were Liverpool this year and Woolwich last year which were both altered by red cards.

Oops ... I made a mistake, and thus I owe an apology to all.
The stat only applies to the games against the top four sides, which I guess is still relevant with this week's game nevertheless.

Anyway here's the source:

So how about that Chelsea match on Saturday. Pretty important
Meh, it's a bit throwaway for me. I'd love to win, obviously, but I'm 95% sure we wont. Important are the forthcoming Woolwich, Liverpool and Benfica games.

Don't take this as not wanting to win. But I'd suggest when filling out BBC's Premier League predictor, we'd all have Chelsea away down as a loss.

That makes a lot more sense. It's a skewed stat though because he appeared against Liverpool and Woolwich when there were red cards and then he was subbed on in the City game a couple of weeks ago following Rose's red card.

Not that I'm any less worried about our fullback issues in this game but I'm not sure that stat paints a fair picture either.

There is a legit cause for concern regarding our medical team tbh.

We're at the top of the injury table and have been most of the season. This isn't new either. Of course it could all be down to bad luck but I'm beginning to think that's unlikely now.

I've been saying it all along. We've got Theodoric of York on our medical staff.

"Ah, you've pulled your hip again, Dembele? Don't worry, you'll feel much better after a good bleeding!"
