Match Tottenham Hotspur v Qarabağ FK | Thursday 26th Sept | Tottenham Hotspur Stadium | 8pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I reckon loads would go at £10, general sale early doors, we could easily get 50,000 plus in. People who want to try it but it’s been too expensive previously - at £10 to go or £30 for TNT, they would go.

This and Elfsborg should be priced much lower. Roma, charge Prem prices as that will have a lot of interest. AZ I’m not sure, so £35 doesn’t sound too bad for that one, they are half decent and being Dutch i expect an attractive style of football - but haven’t watched them in at least 5 years if ever.
It's only £30 for TNT if you don't already have it though. I do, so it's effectively free for a single match. And as for the difference between £10 and £30 for the ticket making a big difference, once you factor in the cost of travel, food, drink, etc. (about £60 in my case), which are the same as for a Cat A PL match, the difference is not so great. In fact it sounds even worse: "OK, so it's £10 for a ticket, but it will still cost me £70 to go".

Maybe you're right, but I'm not convinced many more will turn up if the price is even lower. Closing the top half the ground may be the only answer, although I'm not a fan of that and wouldn't go in that case.

The biggest "problem" is that we now have 20k extra seats to fill vs 10 years ago. It's relatively easy to getting the nutters and those who want the points (myself included in both categories) to turn up, but getting the final 10k or 20k to turn out on a dark, cold, rainy autumn/winter Thursday (and work/school) night for group stage EL games is never going to work, even at £20 or even £15.

True, they could make these tickets £5 and it wouldn't be at capacity because people would just get them and then not go if they didn't feel like it. If your train is going to cost £20+ and a pint is £7 its a trivial amount in context.

You might not get a full 20,000 more, but 5,000 I think or possibly 10,000.

Levy could then charge £60 for the Roma game and 1 loyalty point, safe in the knowledge that he would get 50,000 plus for that - who knows, he might be planning that anyway.

I just think it going to look poor when we have loads of empty seats on Thursday and £30 a ticket will be a contributory factor

We never pitch it right, we start players with one foot out the door - sure they have ability, but they also have zero desire. We make 8/9 changes and look like complete strangers.

I mean other than the first 30 seconds, I thought we were bloody good on Saturday, not perfect but it was a good entertaining performance - but it annoyed me that I had to watch that shit the previous Wednesday - a horribly disjointed performance where 11 strangers got together with no semblance of a plan and an oak tree in goal

Those miserable performances really are the norm in cup games now. Just since Poch went and CL became less prevalent

Jose
Uefa cup - boring loss away to Antwerp, drew 3-3 with LASK after having to come from behind. Then the Zagreb 2nd leg debacle.

Nono
EFL struggled past Wolves (penalties) and Burnley
Ropey conference league - Fucking Mura AND Pacos losses. Lost to Vitesse and drew with Rennes. Liteally to Johnston Paint trophy of European football that fucking west ham won, and we threw it away playing shite back up players.

People are arguing here if £10 tickets would increase attendence.
Playing a decent 11 and some good football with the focus on winning would attract more fans.

Don't give him ideas.

Sure, but you’re not getting Tottenhams top product are you. You will be getting a B team and youth, the players we will all be moaning about on Thursday night.

It’s like paying to watch Oasis and then getting a tribute band instead

You wouldn't even see the equivalent of Spurs C team watching Orient's first team (with all due respect to them). But the same price at Spurs

And Spurs' players paid 10 or 20 times what Orient players are paid - do you go in and demand Spurs players drop their wages too ? I'm sure they will be pleased to see you.

There's no need to be arsey, I'm just disagreeing with you. Don't take it personally.

£30 for European nights at the lane in 2024 isn't a bad deal. I don't like the fact that football costs this much now, but it's not unique to Tottenham. I disagree with the fact you could get away with £75 in the conference league no matter what context you invent.
Getting arsey because you keep glossing over the context.

If we’re out of Europe for a decade then our first foray back, regardless of oppo and ticket price to a degree is going to be very popular.

Whereas playing Qarabag on a Thursday night at £30 when you have been Euro regs for 2 decades and been in a CL final 5 years prior as well as playing the cream of Europe in that time is never ever in a million years going to be an in demand fixture - so why not set the prices low in order to get a bumper crowd in.

I won’t be arsey if we can discuss the above rather than going off in different directions

See for me it’s £10 train and I would spend £6/7 on food. So at £10 a ticket Its cheaper for me to go to the game than watch at home.

You're getting arsey because you think only your context matters. All the context matters. But of course, to you pointing out different arguments is "going off in directions".

Basically "I won't be arsey if you just agree with me" is a rubbish argument.

Spurs really fucked the pricing of this game - £30, no wonder they can’t shift them. 30 fucking quid to watch a rotated side (how much we don’t know yet) against one of the least glamorous sides on the planet - not really a knock on them, but can you honestly name a single player for them?

We will be lucky if it’s half full. Why not make it a tenner for adults and £5 for seniors and juniors - would have got a much bigger crowd in.
All the lower stands are sold out and most of the upper, 40k plus I reckon?
Also lots of members that don't get a chance of getting tickets for league games see this as a bargain price. I have met loads of casual supporters who will be going to this

Fantastic news then - we’re gonna have a sell out on Thursday lads because nearly 20 years ago we sold well when tickets were higher.

Of course the little thing called context plays a part - we had been starved of Euro footy so it was a novelty. This time round we’ve been CL regs for a while.
And we are guaranteed loads of games and almost guaranteed to qualify so there’s not much riding on it

The knock outs will sell out

Okay, so to summarise your still not going to engage on the context I wish to discuss.

We shouldn’t waste anymore of each others time then

It’s an awful unofficial policy the club has had to treat these comps like something they just stepped in. Imagine how much happier this fan base would be right now if we had won a League cup and Europa in the last decade

The Spurs players were still earning that last season with no Europe - so your “argument” doesn’t really work.

The fact we pay them as much as we do makes me think we should use them for these games though - but we won’t, we will have £175k a week Maddison getting splinters up his Aristotle at best. So your argument doesn’t work at all I am afraid.
