Palace have just named a near full team and bench - maybe 2 or 3players off their best at worst.
So briefing the press that the game was going to be called off IS wrong.
Maybe they didn’t?
Maybe the journo overheard something or spoke to a ball boy and thought he was going to be the ITK King of South London but fucked up….
Or maybe Palace genuinely feared an outbreak and spoke to him off record and he went with it anyway?

They have - briefing the press led to false reports that the game was off - many fans will now not have travelled and lost the price of their tickets .... how is that not wrong?

This is my suspicion too. Journalists love to scoop the competition and be the ones to break a story (and sometimes are pressured to do so by editors). It can lead to sloppiness in getting out too far ahead of inadequately-sourced stories.

Ended up parking about half hour walk away...
Anyway, fuck it, here now.
