It sounds cliched, but this is exactly the kind of game the likes of Utd somehow find a way to win.

Yes. The same United with around 20 years worth of cultural winning mentality.

Let's all just chill out a little. It was just 90 minutes of poor football. We'll survive. Can't say the same for QPR.

I wrote this up on my own. So no, I didn't copy and paste it from http://www.myfootballfacts.com/Tottenham_Hotspur_v_Queens_Park_Rangers_Match_History.html

Queens Park Rangers host Tottenham Hotspur at Loftus Road on Saturday 12th January 2013 (KO 12:45) in the 22nd round of 2012-13 Premier League matches. The game was brought forward from Monday night as Rangers drew with West Brom in the FA Cup.

This will be the 135th time the two teams have met and Rangers come into the game in 20th place in the table on 13 points after their 1-0 away win at with Chelsea, while Spurs are in 3rd place on 39 points after a 3-1 home win against Reading.

Queens Park Rangers were founded in the same year as Tottenham Hotspur - 1882 - with the merger of two local teams, St Jude's and Christchurch Rangers. Most of their players were based in the Queen's Park district of North-West London and the club had a very nomadic early history moving to over 20 different grounds before settling down at Loftus Road in 1917. The White City Stadium was also home for short periods.

The first meeting between Spurs and QPR came in November 1890 in the second qualifying round of the London Senior Cup and resulted in a 1-1 draw. Spurs won the replay at home 2-1. The Spurs team featured several of the youngsters who founded the club, including Jack Jull and Robert Buckle.

Two friendly matches were played in 1892 & 1893 before the next competitive game in September 1899 in the Southern League. Both teams were also members of the Southern & District Combination League during that 1899-1900 season. Spurs won three of the four matches that season with one match drawn.

The clubs played eight more seasons in the Southern League together and were also members of the Western League from 1900-01 to 1905-06.
Tottenham generally had the upper hand over their West London rivals during this period .

Tottenham Hotspur joined the Football League for season 1908-09 and thereafter matches for the next 40 years against Queens Park Rangers were limited to minor competitions, friendlies and matches played during both World Wars.

The first Football League meeting between the two clubs came in Division Two in October 1948 with Eddie Bailey scoring the only goal at White Hart Lane while the return fixture at Loftus Road ended in a 0-0 draw.

Spurs did the 'double' over Rangers the next season on their way to the Division Two title, winning 3-0 at the Lane with a Bill Nicholson goal and a brace from Les Bennett, while the reverse fixture at Loftus Road was won 2-0 with goals from Eddie Bailey and Les Medley.

As a Third Division club, QPR won the Football League Cup in 1967 beating holders West Bromwich Albion in the first Final held at Wembley Stadium and were also promoted to the Second Division with players like Rodney Marsh, the Morgan twins (Spurs would later sign Roger), Tony Hazell, Mark Lazarus, Mike Keen and former Spurs striker Les Allen. They won promotion again the next season and played their first season in the Top Flight of English Football in 1968-69.

Spurs won the home match that season 3-2 with goals from Phil Beal, Alan Gilzean and David Jenkins. The away fixture at Loftus Road ended in a 1-1 draw with Jimmy Greaves scoring for Spurs. QPR were relegated at the end of the season.

Rangers were back in the First Division for season 1973-74 and in October they beat Spurs in the Football League Cup second round 1-0. The League match at the Lane resulted in a 0-0 draw and QPR won the away game 3-1 with Martin Chivers scoring from the penalty spot for Spurs.

Honours were even the next season with Rangers winning 2-1 at the Lane and Spurs winning 1-0 at Loftus Road - John Duncan scored both of Tottenham's goals. 1975-76 saw QPR finish as First Division runners-up, which was their best ever finish in the Football League.

The first FA Cup meeting between the two clubs came during the 1980-81 season and Spurs drew a third round match at Loftus Road 0-0 but won the replay 3-1 at the lane with goals from Tony Galvin, Glenn Hoddle and Garth Crooks. Spurs would go on to win the FA Cup that season.

The teams met each other again in the FA Cup the very next season but this time it was in the Final at Wembley. Glenn Hoddle put Spurs ahead in extra time only for Terry Fenwick (later to sign with Spurs) to grab the equaliser five minutes from the end.

The replay was held at Wembley five days later and a 6th minute penalty scored by Glenn Hoddle was enough to ensure the silverware would remain in North London. Many neutrals felt that Rangers were hard done by, as they had played very well indeed.

Both Queens Park Rangers and Spurs were founder members of the Premier League, but Rangers only managed to remain for four seasons before being relegated at the end of the 1995-96 season. Honours were even during the eight games played in the competition with both Spurs & QPR winning three games each with two matches drawn.

The fixture at White Hart Lane last season in October was won 3-1 by Spurs. First half goals from Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart saw Spurs go in 2-0 up at half-time. Jay Bothroyd scored a header to put QPR a goal behind after 62 minutes but Gareth Bale's second goal of the game ten minutes later ensured that Tottenham would get all three points.

QPR won the reverse fixture at Loftus Road in April 2012 1-0 with an Adel Taraabt 24th minute goal enough for all three points.

During the summer, New Zealand defender Ryan Nelsen moved from Spurs to QPR on a free transfer. (SOL CAMPBELL ALL OVER AGAIN!!)

The game at White Hart Lane in September 2012 resulted in a 2-1 win for Spurs. Former Tottenham striker Bobby Zamora gave Rangers the lead after 22 minutes and they went in at half-time 1-0 ahead. Gareth Bale's corner on the hour mark was headed towards goal by Steven Caulker and took a deflection off Alejandro Faurlin and just a minute later Jermain Defoe secured all three points for Spurs by tapping-in a shot from Gareth Bale which had rebounded off the crossbar.

In November 2012, former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp took over at Queens Park Rangers after Mark Hughes had been sacked.

Overall, Tottenham Hotspur have won 61 of the 134 matches played so far with Queens Park Rangers winning 34 and the remaining 39 games drawn.

Fucking hell, awful game, barring the first 20 minutes we didn't even test them.

I've never seen a spurs team run out of ideas so quickly. Zero width, zero creativity, wasteful with the ball and one dimension in our build up play.

Frustrating.

Oh and mbia is a fucking cock...that is all

If Bale scores, you just know this line is getting trotted out...

"before I came here, they had Gareth playing as a left-back and couldn't win a game, that goes to show what he can do when he plays on the wing, top top player, triffic, could walk into any side in the world"
He'll completely ignore that Jol played him left mid and that he nearly shipped him off to Forest

Am I the only one who thought Ryan Nelsen was decent enough for us? He scored a goal for us and played well in various sub appreneces.

Andre Villas-Boas has hit back at Harry Redknapp’s claim that ‘only a real dope’ could fail at Chelsea, insisting: “You have to be able to manage the club first.”
The frosty response comes after Redknapp – sacked last summer to make way for AVB at Spurs – also had a dig at his successor’s analytical approach earlier this season by saying: “bulls*** baffles brains.”
The two go head to head on Saturday, with Redknapp’s QPR team hosting Tottenham.
But asked about Redknapp’s view on managing his former club, the Spurs boss said: “Only if you manage the club can you find out.
You have to be able to access a club like that to experience it.“It’s a different type of club. You have to experience it and then you have to survive in it.”
Villas-Boas, sacked from Stamford Bridge last March after just two-thirds of a season in charge, also appeared to suggest the relationship between him and Redknapp is less than cordial.
Asked if he had spoken to the QPR boss since taking over his old job, he said: “No. I have never spoken to him.”Asked if Redknapp had at any point wished him luck at White Hart Lane, AVB again replied: “No. I have never spoken to him.”And on his relationship with his predecessor, the Portuguese once more stated: “No. I have never spoken to him

TEAM NEWS

Queens Park Rangers will assess Esteban Granero, who was forced off last weekend because of a tight hamstring.

Junior Hoilett is nursing a similar problem, but new signing Tal Ben Haim may make his league debut for the club.

Tottenham have Emmanuel Adebayor available for the last time before the Togo striker departs for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Spurs have no fresh fitness concerns, but William Gallas remains sidelined by a calf complaint.

MATCH PREVIEW

As much attention will probably be paid to the two managers on Saturday as the players. Although Harry Redknapp has been unable to say much about his departure from Tottenham, I think it still rankles with him. He would surely get particular satisfaction out of seeing his QPR team getting a result against his former employers, now led by Andre Villas-Boas.

This really is a clash between two very different personalities. Villas-Boas is famed for his meticulous scouting and preparation but is still desperate to prove himself after a chastening experience at Chelsea.

Conversely, Redknapp has taken charge of over 1,200 games, and is very much from the old school of management - he believes modern coaches risk "baffling" players with hefty pre-match dossiers.

Villas-Boas is gradually winning over the Spurs fans but it will still be fascinating to see what kind of reception his predecessor gets from the visiting supporters at Loftus Road.

This will be Emmanuel Adebayor's last match before he departs for the Africa Cup of Nations, but I would be surprised if Spurs bring in more reinforcements before the transfer window shuts.

Deals for Zeki Fryers and Lewis Holtby have already been agreed, and with players like Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Scott Parker back to fitness, the Tottenham squad is looking very strong. In fact, right now Spurs probably have as good a substitutes' bench as any Premier League side.

Queens Park Rangers have already picked up free agent Tal Ben Haim but more defensive cover is needed, especially with Ryan Nelsen set to leave the club to coach MLS side Toronto. Centre-back has been a bit of a problem area for Rangers, which explains why the club are interested in signing West Brom stalwart Jonas Olsson.

From now on, QPR must treat every game like a cup final. Despite their surprise win at Stamford Bridge they are still five points from safety. They kept only their third Premier League clean sheet against Chelsea, and free-scoring Spurs will be a real threat - they are the only top-flight side to have scored in every away game this season.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

Tottenham have only won one of their five previous Premier League games away at Queens Park Rangers (D1, L3).

Spurs' last victory at Loftus Road was a 3-2 win on 25 September 1995, when Teddy Sheringham scored twice for the visitors. Rangers were relegated at the end of that season.

Queens Park Rangers

Victory would give Rangers back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since December 1995, when they beat Bolton and then Aston Villa.

Shaun Wright-Phillips' goal against Chelsea was his first in the league since 9 May 2010. Prior to scoring he had attempted 42 shots at goal in 2012, more than any other Premier League player.

Rangers have kept three clean sheets in 21 league games this season, two of which came against Chelsea. They have failed to record a shut-out in nine league games at Loftus Road since their 0-0 draw with Chelsea on 15 September.

Harry Redknapp won 49% of his league games in charge of Tottenham (P144, W71, D37, L36). Andre Villas-Boas (57%) is the only Spurs boss with a better Premier League record.

Rangers have scored 35% of their league goals from shots outside the penalty area this season, more than any other top-flight side.

Defeat would be QPR's 100th loss in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs have won nine of their last 11 games in all competitions (W9, D1, L1).

They are the only Premier League team to score in every away game this season.

Tottenham have scored 12 league and cup goals in four games since Christmas, conceding only twice.

Gylfi Sigurdsson could make his 100th league appearance in English football.

Dembele is playing hurt, I think it's pretty obvious. Doesn't have anywhere near his normal burst.
