impressed by Thuram (son of Lilian) who has been good for France once he came on.

His club just got relegated so it will be interesting to see where he goes

The standard of French football is the highest in Europe. In terms of production of talent, they truly are the "European Brazil" or closest equivalent of American basketball, when it comes to producing talent.

This was probably the shop window game of this tournament, there were some really highly rated and sought after young players on both sides tonight, Ignoring the obvious ones (AWB, Foden, Maddison, Sessegnon, Mount) I've been a fan of Aouar (Lyon) for a couple of years, like both LB's - Jay DeSilva (Chelsea) and Ballo-Toure (Monaco), Also really like the look of (Leipzig's) CB's Upamecano and Konate both look good whenever I see them. Tousart's a solid DM, and I quite like Choudhury but that was a diabolical tackle. Then you've got Bamba and Ikone the Lille pair who are quite lively.

I really don't know why England are still trusting Boothroyd with what is a really talented bunch of footballers at the key stage of development.

This French side is good, but not the very best they've had in recent years and they aren't brilliantly coached by Ripoli either. Individually this England side should be a match for most of the teams in this, including this France team, but after the first 15 minutes it still struggled to look very cohesive.

England were better for 70 minutes though, and I think Italy and Spain are probably better than either. It is going to be tough for England to make the semi-finals now.

Spain and Italy have better talent factories than France, Germany probably do as well. And we all know the over all talent level in the English youth game. But France are more willing to bed their youngsters in early in their first teams.

England have equally as good talent producing systems these days, more and more English youth are being tracked by foreign teams. That must continue, in fact it should be encouraged. The game last night showed how we can be dominating for 30mins. Take the foot off the gas and allow another team into the game, the sending off basically changed the game as up to that point we was managing the game.

England looked at one point that they would hold on for a very gritty three points, France missing two penalties, various near things, Henderson had a good game and even at 1-1 it would have been a pretty decent point, but the own goal for the winner was a real sickener. Choudhury's tackle was crazy, he is a very tenacious midfielder but that was a red card all day long.
Olivier Ntcham came on a a sub in the second half, been at Celtic for two seasons - £4.5M from Man City, he has bags of skill and sprays the ball around with great aplomb, has a great touch, but at times he just looks lethargic and disinterested. Goes missing at times when things aren't going well.
Was said to have been seriously pissed off when his big mate Dembele left Celtic for Lyon under a cloud on the last day of the summer window last year.
Porto, Lyon and Marseille said to be interested and willing to pay £12M or more. Porto supposedly had a £15M bid rejected last summer.

Ceballos unlucky with the free kick, but was that really handball even with the new laws?
Scientists are going to have to start work on genetic engineering to make defenders with no arms.
